I have never been a beer person. Maybe that makes me a silly girl who only likes the sugary, pink drinks, but those “girly drinks” are really damn delicious.
But, I stick to basic mixes at home, like a rum and coke, because I’m also too lazy and cheap to make a good cocktail.
My liquor cabinet has two types of rum at all times: spiced and dark.
But in the summer, I add a third bottle: Malibu’s coconut rum.
Besides adding a summery twist to a regular rum and coke, it’s a great base for tons of summertime cocktails.
Lately, Malibu has been expanding beyond the coconut with their flavors.
Passion fruit, lime, mango, pineapple, and banana are all readily available for your summer cookouts.
While I haven’t had a chance to try them all yet, I do really love the mango one. I don’t know how to feel about the idea of a banana-based cocktail, TBH.
Their latest product reveal has me drooling, though.
The “Strawberry Spritz” is a ready-to-drink rum beverage that sounds like summer in a bottle. It combines a fizzy rum base with strawberry and coconut flavors.
Yum!
Unfortunately, I can only find confirmation of its release in the UK so far.
As of yet, North American product news sites are quiet on the subject.
Hopefully, the drink tastes as good as it sounds and Malibu will expand it to more markets.
The closest thing I could find on the US product page was this Strawberry Kiwi drink in a can.
Which, admittedly, also sounds delicious, and I may need to pick up a couple on my way home from work today.
Still, I’m watching for that stateside announcement for the Strawberry Spritz, because I need that in my life.
