It’s always hard to say goodbye.
That bittersweet feeling of losing something that’s taken up so much space in your heart, knowing you’ll always have the memories…and the reruns, obviously.
What? I’m not talking about saying goodbye to a person . I mean to my actual true love, television.
*Last Man Standing* has been a staple on television for the past nine years.
Who doesn’t love Mike Baxter and his long-suffering family of powerhouse women figuring life out as they go?
Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and the current season that just premiered is going to be the show’s last.
The show is no stranger to losing cast members.
In fact, of the three actresses cast initially to play Mike Baxter’s three daughters, only one of them is still on the show, and she’s only recurring!
First, oldest daughter Kristen was recast all the way back in season 2.
Next, in a much more controversial move, middle daughter Mandy was recast in season 7.

This one was really shocking, especially because the actresses were so different! From seasons 1 to 6, Mandy was a dark haired short girl played by Molly Ephraim.
But from season 7 onward, Mandy was a tall blonde played by Molly McCook!
Of course, both Mollys did a great job with the character, but it was a huge a nd pretty unpopular change in the core cast of the show!
There’s a lot in store for the final season that we’re all excited about.

Like, for instance, Tim Allen reprising his iconic character of Tim Taylor from Home Improvement on the show, which is the meeting of maybe my two favorite television dads of all time!
Okay, nobody tell Dan Connor I said that.
*Last Man Standing* brought back a fan-favorite in the series premiere that fans were super excited to see.

Obviously, that character was none other than youngest daughter and Mike Baxter’s little protégé, Eve Baxter!
While on the show, her lack of regular appearance has been explained by her joining the Air Force. In real life, there’s a pretty good reason too!
The actress, Kaitlyn Dever, is a rising star.

Have you seen her in Booksmart ? Unbelievable ? Coastal Elites ? Them That Follow ? Kaitlyn is obviously super talented and is a very busy girl, which we can only be happy about!
Of course, that doesn’t mean we miss Eve any less.
Luckily, she returned in the cold open for the final season!
She was present via video call at a baby shower, which we loved to see!
I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of Kaitlyn (and Eve) as the season goes on, given that this is the last season of the show, but I have to say I was definitely relieved to see her in the first episode!
Are you tuning in to the final season?
Are you excited about Eve’s return, or are you more into the upcoming cross-over event of the decade with Tim The Tool Man Taylor?
Also, how are you all coping with this being the final season? Please leave me some tips, because I do NOT know how I’m going to handle it!
