It seems the Kardashian-Jenner clan is causing online controversy yet again.
This time, Kylie Jenner is the one getting dragged like no tomorrow. And it’s all because of her new skincare line.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, let me explain who I’m even talking about.
In case you didn’t know, Kylie Jenner is famous for starring on the reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians . Kylie is also famous for being one of Kim Kardashian’s little sisters.
More recently, however, Kylie has become ultra-famous in her own right.
The 21-year-old started her own makeup line called Kylie Cosmetics back in 2015.
When it launched, Kylie’s first product was the “Lip Kit” and it sold out within mere seconds.
Now, her line includes a wide array of products from eyeshadow palettes to eyebrow gel.
For the most part, people have been loving Kylie Cosmetics and their love has helped to make Kylie very, very rich.
In fact, Kylie is so wealthy that she was recently named the youngest “self-made” billionaire by Forbes.
So it’s safe to say fans were losing their minds when they heard that a skincare line would be coming.
Kylie first filed for a skincare-related trademark called “Kylie Skin” back in October 2018.
While fans immediately got excited about the news, Kylie didn’t officially speak on it until last week.
Kylie then shared a post to her Instagram page a few days later to launch Kylie Skin.
“Skincare and makeup go hand in hand and Kylie Skin was something I dreamt up soon after Kylie Cosmetics,” she wrote in her announcement. “I’ve been working on this for what feels like a lifetime so I can’t believe I’m finally announcing!”
The line was then rolled out on both Kylie’s page and the new Instagram account, @kylieskin
The Kylie Skin Insta page quickly racked up 1.1 million followers within days of launching.
Fans were also able to get a first look at Kylie’s soon-to-be-released skincare products.
Right away, fans quickly called out an issue with Kylie’s new face scrub.
In a video decked out in all things millennial pink, Kylie talked to the camera about her new products.
“So my walnut face scrub. It’s really gentle. It’s gentle enough to use every day. I recommend using it 2-3 times a week because that’s how often I use it,” Kylie said. “Some walnut scrubs are really harsh on the skin but this isn’t too abrasive.”
Well, fans weren’t buying it (no pun intended) and called out the product’s potentially harmful effects.
“Why [buy] the walnut scrub when you could go scrape your face against tree bark for the same effect,” one person Tweeted.
Another commented, “Walnut exfoliating products are THE DEVIL! How did this even make it past the idea stage?!”
One person even joked and said, “Hear that? That is the sound of 700 beauty writers pitching why walnut scrub is bad for your skin.”
Though walnut scrubs are not totally uncommon, it’s gotten a bad rep over the years for being bad for your skin.
St. Ives was hit with a lawsuit back in 2016 for including the same ingredient in their scrub.
The claim was that the scrub had a sandpaper-like effect and was creating tiny, rips in the skin. It was also said to cause signs of early ageing.
The case may have been tossed out in 2018 but the topic is still highly debated among dermatologists and skincare users.
Clearly, people aren’t feeling the idea of rubbing ground walnuts on their face. And if these negative claims are true, I don’t blame them.
