Kylie Jenner is setting the record straight.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star recently debunked rumors that she’s suing people for using “rise and shine.”
While the rest of the world is busy shining, things are looking a little grey for Kylie Jenner right now.

The reality star was just forced to set the record straight on viral claims that she’s suing people over the words “rise and shine.”
In case you missed what rise and shine is all about (read: RiSe AnD sHiNe), it all started when Kylie gave fans a much-anticipated tour of her Kylie Cosmetics office.

And let’s just say that it did not disappoint.
I mean, for one, there was a CHAMPAGNE VENDING MACHINE.

Because it’s always five o’clock nine a.m. somewhere.
And for two, Kylie had a boardroom with fuzzy chairs, several glam rooms, and a YouTube filming studio.
But the best part of the tour, by far, was when Kylie went to go wake up her daughter, Stormi.

Kylie did so by walking into Stormi’s nursery, flicking on the light, and singing the words: RiSe AnD sHiNe.
Thus, a meme/GIF/my new ringtone was born.
As you can imagine, it didn’t take long for the internet to have a field day with it.
It led to gems like this:
People were even making remixes of the song! Stormi jammed out to a version of it.
Even Kylie had some fun with her viral moment.

She laughed along with the internet by posting this image on Instagram and by changing her bio to say “rise and shine.”
Being that she is a billionaire, after all, she didn’t hesitate to cash in on the craziness by releasing sweatshirts with the iconic phrase.

Excuse me while I rush and buy one in every color.
Soon, Kylie filed a trademark on the phrase.
It’s a move that hasn’t resonated well with her fans, given some of the tweets like this one.
Others couldn’t help but laugh at it:
Something that wasn’t so funny, though, was the fact that Kylie filing the trademark made it easier for people to believe that Kylie was suing people for using the phrase.
This said rumor first appeared in an Australian newspaper called “The Gold Coast Bulletin.”

It had been reported that Kylie’s lawyers sent “cease and desist” letters to an apparel company called Cased Clothing.
In the article, the company’s owner had some not-so-nice things to say about the young billionaire.

“I used to really like her, now I’m like are you kidding me. The design wasn’t about her, it was just a shirt with a different holiday feel,” she reportedly said.
Well, as it turns out, those claims were false and Kylie didn’t hesitate to hop on Twitter and clear her name.
She began by replying to one of the viral tweets.
She also sent a follow-up tweet that read: “There are no law suits, no cease and desist letters. Happy Sunday.”
With a mega plot twist that we didn’t see coming, Kylie’s not the only one to clear her name.
The company that was allegedly being sued by her also confirmed that the rumors are false.
Time to look on the bright side!
With this whole mess behind us, can we get some rise and shine lip kits, Ky?
