Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may have just revealed that they’re having a baby, but that doesn’t mean that things have always been smooth-sailing…
The “Never Worn White” singer just got candid about the “friction” between her and Bloom.

Last week, Katy Perry announced that she’s expecting her first child with actor Orlando Bloom.
She made the exciting announcement in her music video for her new song, “Never Worn White.”
This is the first child for Perry and second for Bloom, who has his son Flynn with her ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.
Revealing the exciting news has been freeing for the 35-year-old singer.
“omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore,” Perry tweeted out soon after the video was released.
“Or carry around a big purse lol,” she added.
PerryBloom has been a thing ever since the Golden Globes after-party in 2016.
But that’s not to say that the couple hasn’t had their ups and downs throughout the years.
For example, they took a break in 2017 after over a year and a half of dating.
“Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” a joint statement read.
When they got back together in 2018, they were forced to confront some of their relationship issues.
“Katy and Orlando want this to work this time, so they are working on mending their relationship,” a source told E! News .
“They’ve had some really good talks and have a better understanding on their needs.”
Thankfully, Perry’s bond with Bloom’s 9-year-old son Flynn has never wavered.
The source even revealed that Perry gets along well with Kerr and her husband, Snapchat founder, Evan Spiegel.
Things have clearly improved over the years with the couple as Orlando proposed to Katy in 2019 on Valentine’s Day.
He did so with a beautiful and unique flower-shaped ring.
“Full bloom,” Perry captioned the selfie with her new fiancé.
But now, in a new interview with Ryan Seacrest, the “American Idol” judge got candid on her and Bloom’s “friction.”
She began by explaining how all these recent life changes have impacted her music.
“Well, I mean, I have definitely been able to act with even more emotion that I’ve ever had,” she said, adding that it’s been “wild.”
“I’m stepping into adulting, I guess,” she said.
“Like, I’m glad I’ve been able to come out on the other side of this incredible journey of almost 12 years of being in the spotlight.”
She went on to say how “profoundly grateful” she is that she’s not “hooked on drugs” or a “huge alcoholic.”
“Being in this industry will turn you into an insane person, if you let it,” she admitted.
When Seacrest asked what’s kept her sane over the years, she said that she has a “golden compass” thanks to her parents and their beliefs system.
She also thanked Bloom for keeping her sane in the mayhem of Hollywood.
“I’ve consciously or unconsciously picked a partner that makes sure to keep me evolving into the best version of myself,” she began.
However, that’s not to say that things are perfect between the couple.
“There’s a lot of friction between my partner and I, but that friction breeds something beautiful. It can breed a lot of light, you know?” she stated.
She continued:
“It’s just one of those relationships. I don’t know about anyone else who’s listening, what kind of relationships they’ve had — and I’ve had many — but it’s like we basically, we get down to the mat and come back up every time.”
It is *so* refreshing to see a celeb get honest about their relationship, including the hard times!
