Robert Garrison, an actor best known for his role as Tommy in The Karate Kid , has died at the age of 59, TMZ reports .
Garrison’s sister-in-law confirmed the news to TMZ.

She reported that Garrison had passed away Friday morning at a hospital in West Virginia.
She says it was not sudden and that he had been hospitalized for over a month due to kidney and liver issues.
Garrison’s role as a member of the Cobra Kai, Tommy, was iconic.
Garrison also appeared in television shows like MacGyver, Columbo, and Coach . He had recently returned to acting and reprised his role as Tommy in the YouTube TV series Cobra Kai this year.
