Alright, alright, alright, time to talk about an oldie but a goodie: Friends .
I remember the old days, 2015 when I would lie in bed and watch it with my girlfriend. Good, old times.
Good ol’ “Friends”

It’s quite the show, I think we can all agree.
I also think we can all agree that I said that sentence in the most boring way possible. Off to a good start.
But really…

It’s a pinnacle of television and has made stars of a lot of people.
Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, pretty much the entire starring cast is either A-List or at worst A Minus List.
It also had some really cool guest stars.
Oh, Paul Rudd is the first one that pops into my head.
Patrick Warburton, Brad Pitt, Christina Applegate, just a whole bunch of awesome people were on that awesome show.
One in particular…
That you may not know by name is Lauren Tom.
Since Friends , she’s been in things like Bad Santa , Futurama (voicing Amy Wong), King Of The Hill (voicing Connie and Minh) as well as a lot of other great projects.
But in “Friends”…

She was Ross’ girlfriend in Season 2, a fellow paleontologist.
So you know, her and Ross bonded over the same boring stuff every one of the other Friends hates.
She was also super nice.

In fact, according to one of the people working on the show said that creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman created her to be one of the nicest people on the planet.
The joke of course being…

That even though she was constantly being nice and doing nice things, Rachel would still hate on her because Rach had a thing for our boy Ross.
Yes, indeed, very funny.
However…

The crowd did not play into the hands of the creators.
Oh no, they too wanted Ross to get together with Rachel. They wanted it bad, they wanted it more than bad. They were rabid.
So they took their vengeance…

As most angry mobs do. They took it on poor Lauren Tom, who was just there to act.
They booed her during live shows, hissing at her like a pit of angry cobras (probably).
Lauren didn’t take it too well.

She was a sensitive girl, after all, at least that’s what she told Today.
She would go out onstage and die-hard Rachel fans would boo at her, obviously making her feel hated.
She said about the experience:

““I think most actors are pretty sensitive. That’s why we’re doing what we do, because our emotions are right on our sleeve. I just was so shocked that they were booing me. And, of course, I was trying very hard not to get my feelings hurt.”
The worst part is…

That she was rooting for Rachel too!
I mean, that’s why she did the show because she was a fan, it was just her character that wanted the two of them apart.
Luckily…

Lauren Tom had a pretty good time when they weren’t filming.
Apparently, the rest of the cast was very nice to her and treated her with the utmost kindness.
One time…

She had this experience with the cast:
“I still remember it was my birthday on my first day of rehearsal, and so they all took me out to lunch. It was very, very fancy, and it was so, so sweet of them to welcome me in that way.”
So all in all…

It doesn’t sound like the experience was all that bad.
I mean, sure you got booed, but you got to be immortalized as part of the Friends universe! And honestly, that sounds like a win to me.
