The second half of the Dave & Buster’s entertainment and restaurant outfit duo has died, and authorities are revealing crucial information about the cause of his sudden death. Dave Corriveau and James ‘Buster’ Corley created their empire in 1982 and recorded massive growth across the United States.

Corley’s Death

According to the account from his family and the authorities, the 72-year-old passed away in a Dallas hospital on Monday after officers arrived at his home in the city. From then, an investigation commenced into what could have led to his death.
Cause Of Death

Well, police officers who dropped at his home following a call for help revealed that they found Corley in his Dallas home on Monday, writhing in pain from a self-inflicted gunshot wound which later led to his death.
Kate Corley’s Statement

His daughter, Kate Corley released a detailed statement to the police station, stating how Buster’s previous health issues got in the way of his brain function.
Buster Corley Had Stroke

She further revealed Corley was down with stroke four months ago that caused serious damage to the communication and personality section of his brain while asking for privacy to deal with the situation.

The company spokesman rounded up the statement by admitting that while everyone would miss his “wise counsel and easy laugh”, he has built an enduring legacy, with the help of Dave by his side.

The first Dave & Buster was launched in Dallas by Corley and David “Dave” Corriveau, who were business partners at that time in 1982. Corley already owned Buster’s, an Arkansas bar patronized by politicians, cocaine users, and pimps.
Dave ran a popular entertainment and games spot, and after noticing that customers patronized both businesses, they decided to team up and combine arcade games & food.
A Successful Empire

Dave & Buster’s business recorded huge success despite the shady deals of Buster in the past. According to the late business man in a statement.
Dave & Buster’s is currently in over 140 locations across the U.S. since its creation. The partners eventually sold the company to a private equity firm in 2007, while Corriveau died in 2015 at 63.
