Italian model Federico Cola had a close encounter with an octopus while he was filming in the sea by the Indian Ocean. While the octopus initially attacked Cola, he remained calm and eventually made friends with the eight-legged sea creature.
In a stroke of luck, the encounter was caught on camera and the model shared the video on his Instagram account.

The model was on vacation
Cola had been on vacation in Seychelles by the Indian Ocean having a calming swim under the sun when he was attacked by the sea creature.
The model was able to capture the moment on camera and posted it online.
The octopus came up to him
As the man was peacefully having a swim, the sea creature came up to him and wrapped its tentacles around his leg.
He panicked at first after the octopus initially made contact with him and even stumbled over for a moment.
They quickly became friends
Although he had been shocked at first with the octopus tugging at his leg, the model later picked up the creature and was quickly acquainted with it.
In a second charming clip posted by him, you can see the two became friends.
He came up on shore
In the second clip, we see the model taking the sticky sea creature with him up on shore. The octopus was keeping hold of the man’s left shoulder and arm, with the latter not being fazed by the connection between them.
Cola returned the octopus to the water
The model did not seem scared by the octopus’ attachment to his body, in fact, he seemed rather amused by the creature.
After showing the funny situation to his camera, Cola pulled the octopus off his body and returned it to the sea.
The model shared the clip online
Cola posted the clip of himself with the eight-legged creature to his 134,000 Instagram followers, writing, “What a magical surprise.”
“I found my love (actually she found me),” the model joked under the post, which shows how fast he and the octopus had become friends.
His followers were charmed too
Many of Cola’s social media followers were also charmed by the interaction and shared their amusement, which soon caused the video to go viral online.
One user under the Italian model’s post wrote, “This is officially the cutest ocean friendship ever.”

This comes after another funny incident was recently captured with an octopus appearing to be so focused on finding food in a seabed that it smacks another fish nearby doing the same.
While the two sea creatures were side by side, the octopus seemed to swipe away the fish from its path.
The sea creature carried on
After it swipes the fish away, the octopus seems to resume looking for food as if it hadn’t just brawled with a fish. The latter on the other hand, hurried out of the octopus’ way.
Well, it’s safe to say octopuses are one of the funniest sea creatures out there!
