When it was announced that Sex and the City was going to be getting a reboot, I was so excited. I knew that the risk that this would go bad was high, but I was eager to see what Sarah Jessica Parker’s beautiful brain could bring us. As the weeks passed, and people became more and more critical of the show, I clung to my faith.
Now that the season finale has aired, I’ve got to tell you all, I cannot wait for the next season.
OBVIOUSLY, THERE WILL AJLT BE SPOILERS AHEAD!
The show started with a bang, bringing us the death of Mr. Big in episode one.
Watching as Carrie navigated heartbreak alongside her friends, new and old, surely brought comfort to widows everywhere. I loved seeing how Charlotte’s relationship with her children got more complicated and real.
Of course, It was painful to watch as Miranda’s marriage fell apart.
However, I loved being introduced to Che Diaz, Lisa Todd Wexley, Seema Patel, and Dr. Nya Wallace. I loved seeing how our girls navigated their new friendships and romantic relationships.
The show has served a purpose that goes far beyond the original series.
The show was revolutionary at its time for showing the sexual lives of single women in their thirties, discussing topics and relationships that were still seen as taboo. In 2021, this show continued to break the mold by being a show that centered around women in their fifties.
Besides “The Real Housewives” franchise, show me one show that stars three women in their fifties as they navigate love, loss, death, identity, parenting, and sexuality.
There just aren’t that many shows out there that are doing what And Just Like That is doing.
So, instead of criticizing the show for its cheesy lines, bad puns, and crazy kitchen sex scenes — let’s embrace it for what it is!

It’s a show about women continuing to develop, learn and live their friggin lives! I cannot wait to see what season 2 will bring us, and I hope it involves more of Seema and that hot club owner!
