When you buy a new home, it’s really important to do a home inspection . Why? Well, truth be told, some homeowners are so sneaky and might try to hide shoddy work that was done on their house.
It’s pretty unbelievable when you look at these pictures below. So don’t skimp out and say that I didn’t warn you. You wouldn’t want to miss something like this.
1. This Corroded Situation
Oh my goodness, when was the last time somebody checked on these pipes here? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a situation like this one before. I hope you didn’t put an offer on this house.
2. This Support
Holy moly! I’m surprised this home is even still standing. How did that even get through the initial stage is beyond me. I’m not really sure this situation here is fixable, so I would just move along if I were you.
3. This Sound Advice
Oh yeah! I can totally attest to that. I used to live in a building that had an elevator that would always get stuck. A few jumps up and down, and it was good to go. Two thumbs up!
4. This Moldy Scene
One of the worst things you can find in a home is mold. Once that stuff shows up, it ends up spreading like a wildfire. So I would think twice before moving into this humble abode.
5. This Cute Surprise
Shh, don’t wake up the little guy. We all know that chewing through cables is a tiring job. It really poops you out. So let him have a nice rest while you inspect the rest of the house.
6. This Foamy Situation
So your tub won’t drain, and you’re wondering why, huh? Well, I think somebody went a bit crazy with the foam job. Now you’ve got a much harder fix on your hands. Well, good luck with that one.
7. This 2×4 Fix
I’ve always wanted a brick house, but I had no idea something like this could even occur over time. Well, on the bright side, I guess there might be some wiggle room on that listing price.
8. This Termite Paint Job
I thought it was a known fact that painting over termites makes them get out of your house. No? My bad! It’s a good thing a house inspector caught that. Am I right? They’re really trying to pull a fast one.
9. This Deck Job
Here’s something you might want to do before you buy that house with a deck. Inspect underneath it to see if any screws are ready to pop out. And make sure you don’t put any trampoline on it before you do that.
10. This Insulation Problem
If you find yourself constantly cold in your home, this might be the culprit here. Now, the only question remains — who is going in there to fix it? Quick, flip a coin and hope for the best.
11. This Plumber’s Nightmare
Did I mention that two of my neighbors are plumbers? Oh, yeah! I bet they have seen many of these types of DIY patch jobs. They must absolutely love that. Well, good luck getting your hands on that one.
12. This Interesting Find
Ladies and gentlemen, I think we found the reason why nobody can breathe easy in this house here. I’m surprised it took them this long to find the culprit that must be the bane of their existence.
13. This DIY Job
Well, what do we have here? It’s funny how these homeowners here had the money to splurge on paint, but yet they decided to DIY this pipe. It makes a whole lot of sense to me.
14. This Boiling Point
I honestly don’t even know how this can happen. Can somebody explain it to me because I’m quite lost? All I know is that this temperature here is reading off the charts. What the heck went wrong?
15. This Fire Hazard
I seriously hope that a spark doesn’t ignite this mess here. Because if it were to happen, the whole place would be ablaze real fast. How can you miss something like that? I bet these folks are glad it was finally caught, huh?
16. This Melting Fan
Here’s one way to tell that your attic might be a little too warm. It’s definitely not a good sign when the ceiling fan literally starts melting. Yikes!
17. This Interesting Fix
Move along, folks. There’s nothing to see here. Even though I don’t know much about construction, I can see that this isn’t looking safe at all. I would just get the heck out of there if I were you.
18. This Total Surprise
If you hear strange noises in the night, it isn’t your mind playing tricks on you. No! It might actually be somebody else living in your house. So if you’re okay with sharing your space, then everything is cool, man.
Oh my goodness.

Looking at these home inspection pictures makes me question buying a previously-owned house. I mean, how can you really know if there isn’t some terrible surprise waiting for you?
Isn’t this quite eye-opening or what? Have you ever found something odd while inspecting an old house?
