I’m sure we’ve all had a moment watching our favorite old nostalgic movies and thinking “I wonder what these characters are doing now,” or wondering what would have happened in the world after the movie is done.
Sometimes we get a sequel to these movies that answer these questions for us — like Top Gun: Maverick , or Hocus Pocus 2 . The next movie to get that treatment is another classic: Twister .
‘Twister’ is one of the best movies of the ’90s.

And it’s not just me who thinks so — the movie was the second highest grossing film of 1996 and earned over $94 million in the box office.
The movie follows storm-chasers and meteorologists played by Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt as they try to collect data on the most powerful storm seen in decades.
“This movie is going to do for tornadoes, I think, what Jaws did for sharks,” Bill said about the movie at the time.

“It’s going to make people a little intrepid when they see wall clouds,” Paxton said . “So much about tornadoes is almost surrealistic. They can do things that defy the laws of physics,” he went on.
“It’s almost like they’ve got this weird entity. They’re not like other storms.”

Now a sequel is in the work!
As ET reports , ” The Revenant ‘s Mark L. Smith has signed on to write the screenplay for the sequel, with Jurassic World Dominion ‘s Frank Marshall attached to produce through his Kennedy/Marshall Company. No director or casting information has yet been confirmed” for the sequel, titled Twisters .
Are you excited?

Have you been waiting for a sequel to Twister , or would you rather just watch the original again? Personally, I’m going to be the most interested in this sequel if as much of the original cast as possible comes back. Let us know what you think in the comments!
