The ’90s were the greatest era for many things, and among those things: romantic comedies, and the soundtracks that went along with them. They really had it all figured out back then.
It’s very hard to believe, and it makes me feel old knowing that 10 Things I Hate About You came out 20 years ago.

So, for nostalgia’s sake, let’s take a look at what the old cast is up to now.
As great as the movie was, it’s managed to be swept under the rug — the younger generation may never even know how amazing this movie was, especially in this new era of online streaming.
But for all of you true 10 Things I Hate About You fans — we know it can never be replaced by a new Netflix original.
So, of course, we remember the main characters of the movie. Most of them went on to do great things with their careers — like Joseph Gordon Levitt, for instance.
In the movie, he was known as, Cameron James, the new kid in school that came off to be a bit of an unassuming outsider at first, but ends up becoming an important character to the story.
Here’s what Joseph looks like now.
As you can see, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has aged like fine wine.
He has gone on to be an extremely popular actor and has even directed his own films, Don Jon , Sparks , and Band Together With Logic .
Andrew Keegan.
Also known as, Joey Donner — the obnoxious teenage aspiring model that always knew just how to get under everybody’s skin.
At the time, Andrew’s career was really taking off. He also starred in Full House , Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Boy Meets World .
Nowadays, Andrew is more of a family man.
But he hasn’t completely given up on his acting career.
Although he has stayed off most of our radars since the early 2000s, he has made a few appearances on-screen, all the way up until last year.
In 2018, he had a role in the vampire horror film, Living Among Us .
Larry Miller.
Larry Miller played the role of Walter Stratford — a strict single father to Kat and Bianca.
His being overprotective of his daughters is what made him one of the best movie dads of all time.
Larry was also the only original cast member to be apart of the “10 Things I Hate About You” reboot that came out in 2009.
The reboot couldn’t hold a candle to the original and ended after just one season.
Larisa Oleynik.
We remember Larisa for playing the role of Bianca, Kat’s problematic younger sister.
At first, she thinks that she has a romantic future with Joey Donner, but soon realizes that Cameron is the one for her. It was a love story for the ages!
Larisa has come a long way since “10 Things I Hate About You”.
from 2011 to 2014, Larisa had a large reocurring role on the show Hawaii Five-0 , as CIA agent Jenna Kaye.
Gabrielle Union.
Gabrielle played the small role of Bianca’s best friend, Chastity. But after the movie, she went on to do big things.
She went on to star in She’s All That , and Bring It On .
Nowadays Gabrielle is an actress, author, mother, and wife.
She has had roles in countless TV shows and movies since 10 Things I Hate About You , such as Friends , and Think Like A Man .
She was also a judge on America’s Got Talent .
Julia Styles.
Also known as, Katrina “Kat” Stratford — the antisocial, cynical older sister of Bianca.
Ultimately, her thick-skinned persona deteriorates, and we find out that deep down she’s actually very sensitive
After the movie, Julia’s career skyrocketed.
It really got the ball rolling for her.
Most recently she’s starred in Dexter , The Mindy Project , Riviera , Jason Bourne , and Silver Linings Playbook .
And last but certainly not least, Heath Ledger.
10 Things I Hate About You was one of the very first movies to put Heath on the map, and we’re so glad it did.
He was an instant heartthrob to nearly every teenage girl on the face of the earth.
Heath went on to do big things with his career.
Monster’s Ball , Brokeback Mountain , Casanova , and of course, his iconic role as The Joker in The Dark Knight .
RIP Heath, we miss you!
Heath may have been taken from us too soon, but at least he’s left behind an incredible legacy and given us some of our favorite movies of all time.
