I didn’t know when I woke up today I’d be writing a Game Of Thrones and Shrek article. But here I am, and I’m loving it.

There’s a good chance I’m going to talk about the end of Game Of Thrones here, so if you’re still mulling around in Season 2, I suggest tossing your phone off a moving train.
So, “Game Of Thrones” has ended.
Which means the fan theories about how it’s all going to end are over, because… well, because we have an ending that’s canon.
Sigh… nothing ruins a good bunch of fan theories like a canon ending.
All in all, it was alright.
Bran gets to be King (see, told you there would be spoilers), Tyrion gets to be Hand, Dany dies, Jon goes to the Night’s Watch, people scream for an Arya spin-off…
And the world keeps on turning.
Unfortunately, now that we can’t make wild guesses about who will win the Iron Throne, we need to find some other way to amuse ourselves on the internet.
Close that tab, I didn’t mean like that.
I meant like say, finding parallels between “Shrek” and “Game Of Thrones”.
You remember Shrek , don’t you? Of course you do because how could you forget?
Shrek is love. Shrek is life. He fills me to the brim with onion splendor.
Well, someone did exactly that.
One fan found that the critically acclaimed, timeless, world-shattering piece of media was, in some ways, like that TV show Game Of Thrones .
And boy, are the parallels hilarious.
In fact, there’s a whole Twitter account dedicated to it now.
@shrekgot is an account dedicated solely to finding similarities between Game Of Thrones and Shrek .
Because if you’re going to dedicate your life to something, it might as well be something amazing.
And today, we’re going to explore these hilarious comparisons together.

Hm… I feel like I’ve heard those words before…
We begin today’s showing with some Littlefinger and Ned Stark parallels.
And honestly, I don’t really see Littlefinger as Puss In Boots.
He’s conniving, sure, but Puss was the kind of cat who could get all the ladies. Petyr Baelish… not so much.
This scene is a definite callback.
I mean, what else could the creators have been referencing here?
Sure, the scenes play out differently, but they obviously didn’t want to fully copy Shrek . They totally would’ve been called out if they did.
Bran is obviously a Gingy rip-off.
I mean, who could forget the iconic scene in Shrek where Gingy wargs into a direwolf and assaults lord Faarquad’s castle?
For shame, HBO, for shame. We all want to do Shrek , but it’s already been done.
And how could they have missed this?
I mean sure, their characters are a bit different… as far as we know.
They never revealed what happened between Charming and Fairy Godmother offscreen… then again, I don’t really want to think about it.
This is probably the best one.
Although, I feel Tyrion is much gentler than Lord Faarquad.
And also, I don’t think the good Lord is all that aware he’s short (if he is, he turns a blind eye to it), and Tyrion is reminded of it constantly.
This one is interesting…
Because you could call Donkey “The Father Of Dragons” just like Daenerys is “The Mother Of Dragons”.
Wait a minute… both of their names start with D, they’re both sex symbols… Oh my god.
Finally, we have this:
Which I think is a much better character for Petyr Baelish.
He’s creepy, he thinks he deserves the pretty girl and in the end, he ends up losing her.
