Helen Flanagan recently took to Instagram to share the dreadful ordeal of her son encountering a “horrendous fall” at the Alton Towers Water Park. Here’s what we know about this distressing news.
Helen’s Return to Instagram
Helen, 32, recently shared a video of herself on an Instagram story, explaining why she was absent from the global platform for quite some time.
Baby’s Day Out

She reminisced about the grim day, stating, “I went to CBeebies world; it’s Delilah’s favorite hotel; she’s obsessed with this hotel.” Helen was accompanied by all three of her kids: Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie, and a friend who helps her look after the kids.
A Trip to the Water Park

The company of five later decided to take a trip to the Alton Towers, where the horrific incident took place.
Charlie Slips

A day that started with smiles and uplifted spirits soon turned into a tragic story when Charlie, Helen’s youngest child, slipped on a water slide.
Two Parts of a Whole
Helen explains the incident as “awful, absolutely horrendous” and moved on to share that her son had “snapped his collarbone into two.”
6 Hours of Extreme Pain

She continued sharing her details about the day and said that Charlie had to be rushed to the hospital and spent around 6 hours in the hospital at Stoke.
The Paramedics Saved The Day

Helen also took this opportunity to express her gratitude to the doctors and paramedics, “I’d like to say thank you to the paramedics and the doctors and nurses who were amazing. Thank you so much.”
A Mother’s Ode

“To see your child in pain was just horrendous, but he’s ok.” Flanagan continued trying to mask a visibly dismal expression with optimism.
What About The Future?
When talking about her youngest child’s current condition, Helen explained, “there’s actually not much you can do about it. Apparently, it mends by itself.”
Wrong Timing
The awful incident happened just a day before Helen was to leave for Paris with her oldest daughter Matilda.
A Promise Made Months Ago

Furthermore, Helen informs that the plan of the Paris trip with Matilda had been promised to her months ago to spend some quality time with her eldest.
Things Proceed As Planned
After immense contemplation, Helen decided to take the trip to Paris with a minor addition of a little companion and her friend.
Matilda Was on Cloud Nine

Helen also expressed that her decision to go forth with the trip was followed by her eldest daughter’s excitement and how she had been preparing for this trip for months.
What Can a Mother Do?
After finding out about her little brother’s injury and the possibility of the trip being canceled, Matilda broke into tears. That is when Helen decided not to postpone the much-awaited trip, “I didn’t want to let her down.”
Updates on Little Charlie

The soap opera star also shared a snapshot of Charlie standing next to the Eiffel Tower with the caption, “Charlie’s been amazing, bless him so brave x at the Eiffel Tower today.”
Scott Returns to Father Duties
Scott, who was married to Helen for 13 years, looked after the children before the rest of the clan left for Paris and was even looking after Delilah as her mother and sister departed for Paris.
Rosie From Coronation Street
Helen Flanagan gained widespread fame for her role as Rosie in the British television program Coronation Street.
A Break From Fame
The star took a break from television for maternity leave and is often asked if she’d be willing to revive her role in the popular tv show.
Any Plans for a Comeback?

Helen does show eagerness to return to the screen again, but not anytime soon. She’s waiting until Charlie gets a “bit older” to make her comeback. Until then, we’ll be waiting for our beloved star for however long it takes and wishing her son a speedy recovery!
