Mother’s Day is here, so if you’ve forgotten to make plans to give the moms in your life something special, you should probably get on that. Assuming you’ve got that covered, sit back, relax, and let Heidi Klum take you down a Mother’s Day memory lane.
Moms deserve it.

Modern Mother’s Day is one of those Hallmark holidays, invented relatively recently. But humans have been celebrating moms, in one form or another, for thousands of years — just look at the ancient Roman festival of Cybele , which honored the mother goddess Cybele.
Heidi Klum’s a mom.

The German fashion model and overall media superstar has four kids in total. Her first, Helene (Leni for short), was born in New York in 2004. Leni was born in May, and her mom marked both her birthday and Mother’s Day in a cool way.
Klum posted a few videos on Instagram.

You can see all three on her Instagram account . They all date back to 2004, during and immediately after her first pregnancy. This video shows her mom sitting alongside her on a couch.
The camera pans…

You can see Klum’s very pregnant belly. Her mom reaches over and lovingly caresses her belly. The accompanying post is in German, but says something like, “My mom is always by my side.”
Snooki loved it.

There were all kinds of adoring comments on Klum’s videos, including this contribution from Snooki herself. There’s something about the motherly touch that seems to strike a chord in everybody.
Moms get it.

Another video shows Klum, a crop top revealing her pregnant belly. The camera slowly pans over to reveal a giant table filled with food. After all, even supermodels get pregnancy cravings.
Almost ready to go…

This video, captioned “I got it from my mom,” shows Klum assessing a big bag on her bed. She’s still pregnant, and it becomes clear that these are the supplies her mom packed in anticipation of giving birth.
It’s full of goodies.

Klum pulls out socks, shirts, bras and various other supplies intended to make her hospital supply easier. It’s a poignant moment: she’s poised to be a mom for the first time, all while thinking about what her mom means to her.
Moms shine in so many ways.
While most of the parenting duties and general heavy lifting happen when kids are young, moms continue to come through in the clutch throughout the lives of their children — especially when those children are about to give them grandkids!
Finally, Leni was born.

Klum posted this video of her breastfeeding the newborn Leni. She captioned it with a heartfelt message about how blessed she feels with not just Leni, but her other three kids as well.
It’s an adventure.

In the video, Klum is smiling and laughing as she gets used to motherhood. She probably didn’t imagine at the time that, fourteen years later, she’d be posting these videos on something called Instagram.
Happy Mother’s Day!

It’s just one day a year, and moms really deserve a lot more. Tell us about your Mother’s Day plans in the comments, and thanks to all of the hard-working moms out there!
