It’s been a tough couple of weeks Hayden Panettiere as she bid her brother farewell in a private funeral. The actress honored the late Jansen by wearing one of his custom jackets.
Tribute To Jansen
Panettiere dressed casually in a black jumpsuit with her graphic jacket designed by Jansen’s clothing brand, R.A.N.E. She wrapped her blonde hair into a messy bun, wore pink sneakers, and covered her face with black sunglasses.
Jansen’s Funeral
She joined the rest of her family and friends at the Palisades Presbyterian Church in Nyack, New York, for the memorial service honoring the late Jansen.
Wearing The Prototype
The former actor, who turned to art as a coping mechanism for his mental health struggles, designed the jacket before his death. Four weeks ago, he shared a picture showing the prototype on his Instagram feed.
Donating To Charity
Three percent of the proceeds from his art and clothing sales went to charities supporting Ukraine during this war against Russia.
Jansen’s Death

Unfortunately, Jansen died in his Nyack, New York apartment in mid-February. He’d missed an appointment that alarmed his friends and made them search for him. They worried about Jansen because of his history of drug abuse.
Cause Of Death Revealed
Despite the rumors saying he likely died of an overdose, Hayden cleared the air saying an enlarged heart led to aortic valve complications that killed the artist.
Breaking Her Silence

Hayden broke her silence during an interview with ABC News saying the natural cause of death comforted the family rather than the rumored overdose.
Family Requests Privacy To Mourn
The Heroes actress thanked fans for their love and condolences while the family grieved Jansen’s loss. She requested privacy during the period and received as much until the funeral earlier this month.
Losing Their Shining Light

Hayden and Jansen were very close during his lifetime and starred in one movie together. The family released a statement praising Jansen’s personality and saying they’ll remember his creativity forever.
His Legacy

Jansen’s memory lives on in the movies and art he created. He had minor roles in teen classics like Blue’s Clues, Ice Age: The Meltdown and Everybody hates Chris.
Jansen’s Last Movie
Jansen and Hayden shared the screen in 2004 and 2005 for Tiger Cruise and Racing Stripes. His last movie was Love and Love Not in 2022 while four of his projects remain unfinished.
Willing Her Return To The Franchise

Hayden was starring in the sixth installment of Scream and shared her thoughts on the franchise. She told GMA that she willed her character into existence as part of her return to acting post-hiatus in 2018.

Hayden said the four years break gave her time to regroup and find herself after working consistently since her pre-teen years.
