Elon Musk was at the White House with Donald Trump answering questions from reporters as part of an Oval Office press conference on Tuesday 11 February.
Grimes criticized her billionaire ex-husband for taking with him their son, X AE A-XII, whose name is pronounced ‘X Ash A Twelve’, better known as X.
Musk was at the Oval Office
The tech mogul has been one of Trump’s closest allies, having been appointed as a ‘special government employee’ following the President’s inauguration.
On Tuesday, he was at a press conference at the Oval Office, answering questions from reporters.
Musk took X with him
Trump, Musk, and the reporters weren’t the only ones in the room, but the tech billionaire brought his son, X AE A-XII, better known as X.
The little boy was seen sitting on Musk’s shoulders as his father was answering questions about the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Musk was asked about condoms
While his son seemed clearly uninterested in the conference, the tech entrepreneur answered a number of questions, one of which was about condoms.
One reporter asked Musk a question which pertained to rumors that $50 million worth of condoms was being sent to Gaza in Palestine, before the reporter corrected it to be about Gaza Province in Mozambique.
He made the room laugh
According to the reporter, the reason for sending the condoms was to protect people from HIV. However, Musk made fun of it, saying that sending that many condoms anywhere sounded like a bad idea.
“That’s really an enormous number of condoms, if you think about it,” he said.
Grimes was not happy about this
Although Musk had managed to make the room laugh, when conversation started about the conference online, his ex, Grimes, was not happy about their son’s public appearance.
She wrote on X/Twitter, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
People were charmed by X
The comment made by Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, was in response to a post calling her son very “polite” and “cute”, referring to the little boy telling the President, “please forgive me, I need to pee”.
Grimes hasn’t spoken about Musk’s new role
Grimes has previously addressed Musk’s ‘Nazi gesture’, saying she is ‘happy to denounce Nazi-ism’ but that she needed to think ‘diplomatically’ before saying anything else. However, she’s yet to address his new role in the Oval Office.
The 36-year-old Canadian has previously expressed that Musk’s public display of their son is a “personal tragedy of mine”.
“I have made it very clear I do not approve of that in every conceivable way I know how,” Grimes said.
Grimes tries to lay off the public criticism
The singer likes to lay off publicly criticising the system. When speaking about some new bills being put in place, she had previously written online that she doesn’t “wanna be deported haha – like literally.”
According to Semafor, as part of Musk’s new role in the White House, he was there with Trump to sign an executive order that would scale back the federal workforce.
Musk was standing with his son answering questions for about 30 minutes while Trump stayed quiet.
