People spend months, if not years, deciding what kind of wedding dress they envision themselves wearing on their wedding day. Once they’ve decided, they put it on for the big day, take some pictures, dance, and eat, and that’s it. Such a big part of the day is then stored in a garment bag and laid to rest in a closet for who knows how long.
But, why do that when you can really get your money’s worth by creating some super memorable and functional keepsake items from it? That’s exactly what one grandmother did to her daughter’s dress, and her creations are so special.
Brenda Wetmore Giffen is a grandmother who isn’t unfamiliar with transforming special clothing into unique and memorable keepsake items.

That’s exactly what her business Brenda’s Online Boutique specializes in.
But, she was given a pretty big task by her own daughter to turn her beautiful lacy wedding dress into not one, not two, but multiple items.
First, she requested a play tent for her daughter.

You can totally see the lacy skirt as the paneling of the tent. It seriously worked out so well!
She also made the cutest plush toys and pillows fit for a princess out of the material.
Her daughter also requested a memory necklace and memory pillow, and Brenda really created such a trendy and timeless piece with the lacy wedding dress fabric!

That framed piece of lace with a blue backdrop is also such a nice touch for any room in a home.
She also wanted a garter constructed for her daughter to wear one day, and Brenda made not one, but two for both granddaughters.

“It’s been challenging, a little scary, lots of fun, and probably the major creative project of my lifetime!” Brenda wrote .
This is definitely a super special DIY project that involves the whole family.
