Animals are a lot like people in many ways. They are prone to jealousy, their feelings can be hurt, and sometimes — they just simply don’t like one another .
Over the course of history, there’s hardly been a more documented case of species rivalry than that between cats and dogs. But now, thanks to an adorable golden retriever puppy named Mia, those proverbial lines in the sand are slowly being washed away.
Certain Animals On This Planet Are Born To Be Mortal Enemies.

Just like the story of the scorpion and the frog, certain animals can’t fight their natural instincts to hunt and destroy one another — for it is in their nature to do so. Examples that come to mind are the king cobra and mongoose, the lion and the hyena, and the owl and eagle. But arguably the most well-documented example of animals not getting along, are cats and dogs.
If Television And Pop Culture Have Taught Us Anything, It’s That Cats And Dogs Despise One Another.
However, this adorable golden retriever puppy, named Mia, seems intent on defying the status quo and opening the lines of communication with his feline friends. As you can see in this heartwarming video, both Mia and her baby kitten bestie have no interest whatsoever in begetting a battle of the species. Instead, the pair seem happy and content to enjoy the company of one another and settle down for a cuddle.
More Than Likely, Mia Learned This Behavior From Her Older Brother, Bailey.

Bailey is a like-minded golden retriever who is as gentle as can be. He has a long and documented history of interacting and befriending all types of animals — from cats to rabbits. In this video, you can watch Bailey’s first interaction with a newborn fluffle of rabbits (yes, a group of rabbits is called a fluffle — how adorable is that!?). As you can see, the baby rabbits take to Bailey immediately and some even mistake him for their mother.
While Mia And Bailey Have Become The Best Of Friends, The Dogs Do Still Get Jealous From Time To Time.

Mia and Bailey share everything, but don’t enjoy having to split time with their parents. As you can see, when Mia gets a warm hug from her dad, Bailey promptly interrupts their cuddle session — happily inserting himself into the mix without any sense of shame. It seems that both Mia and Bailey have come to learn that there’s no sense in fighting when instead they can simply share their parents between the two of them.
