It should be well-known by now that whether you’re famous or not, the things that you say outside of your work hours might affect your position and security at work, especially if those things can be construed as hateful or bigoted in any way.
Nick Cannon, host of Wild ‘N Out and The Masked Singer , learned that lesson very recently.

Nick Cannon has had a pretty successful TV career so far.
While his career began as a rapper, he’s also an actor, comedian, director, writer, and producer that has pretty much cemented his status as a pop culture figure with years of experience.
Until recently, Nick hosted two very popular television series.
He was the host and creator of the improv comedy show Wild ‘N Out since 2005, he hosts The Masked Singer on Fox, and he previously hosted America’s Got Talent .
Nick also runs his own podcast and radio show. He’s everywhere!
On a recent episode of Nick’s podcast, he was joined by rapper Professor Griff.
Griff had formerly been a member of Public Enemy until he was kicked out for anti-Semitic comments such as suggesting Jewish people “are responsible for the majority of the wickedness in the world.”
Speaking to Nick, Griff lamented, saying “[I am] hated now because I told the truth.”
Nick controversially said that Griffin was “speaking facts.”
The two also discussed how they believed Jewish people were in control of the media. Nick then argued that it wasn’t hate speech, saying, “It’s never hate speech. You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”
This morning it was announced that Nick’s relationship with ViacomCBS had been terminated over his comments.
ViacomCBS is the parent company that owns Nick’s successful rap battle show, Wild ‘N Out. Nick has now been let go from the position of host of that show.
Some fans are now calling on Fox to do the same for Nick’s position as host of The Masked Singer .
Fans are not here for Nick’s comments.
Some fans are even suggesting Nick could be replaced with Tom Bergeron, who was just let go from his longtime position as host of Dancing With The Stars .

Nick has now come on social media to apologize for his actions.
“First and foremost I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin,” the star began on Twitter .
Nick continued:
“They reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from. The video of this interview has since been removed,” he wrote.
Nick admitted he had made a mistake on his show.
“On my podcast I used words & referenced literature I assumed to be factual to uplift my community instead turned out to be hateful propaganda and stereotypical rhetoric that pained another community For this I am deeply sorry but now together we can write a new chapter of healing,” he wrote.
Fox has now spoken out about his career fate.
“When we were made aware of Nick Cannon’s interview with Richard Griffin on YouTube, we immediately began a dialogue with Nick. He is clear and remorseful that his words were wrong and lacked both understanding and context, and inadvertently promoted hate,” FOX said in a statement .
“This was important for us to observe. Nick has sincerely apologized, and quickly taken steps to educate himself and make amends.”
“On that basis and given a belief that this moment calls for dialogue, we will move forward with Nick and help him advance this important conversation, broadly,” they said.
