A baby white rhinoceros was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park . Kendi, the mother, was pregnant for 16 months, which is normal for a rhinoceros , before giving birth. Both the mother and baby are healthy and are being monitored by the care staff.

The baby rhino weighed a whopping 150lbs! The birth is part of the Species Survival Plan, led by the Association for Zoos and Aquariums to encourage responsible breeding of endangered species. His mom, Kendi, was the first white rhino born at the park in 1999.

For now, the baby rhino and mother are separated from the crash, which is the term for a group of rhinoceroses. The mother and baby are spending this time relaxing, nursing, and bonding. They are expected to join the crash in the upcoming weeks.
