Elon Musk has admitted that he’s worried his new position at the White House as he leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could be putting him at risk of being assassinated.
Musk has been making big changes
The tech billionaire has been making serious changes with federal government spending since Trump created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and put him at the top of it.
Musk was tasked with cutting federal spending and allegedly plans to give back to the American taxpayer.
Where DOGE is cutting money from
In just 42 days, DOGE has cut federal spending through cancelling federal contracts, dissolving agencies – such as USAID, the agency responsible for providing the largest amount of foreign aid in the world – and cutting independent research contracts at the Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences.
Musk claims he is ‘uncovering corruption’
The Tesla CEO claims his position as Trump’s Senior Advisor is to ‘uncover corruption’ in the US federal government.
Musk has also previously said that his approach to cutting costs is ‘common sense’. DOGE has made several funding cuts to foreign aid and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) contracts.
He recently admitted his fears
Musk recently admitted on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he is worried his new job within the American government could be putting him at risk of being assassinated.
He confessed that being involved in the government is “the most absurd outcome” of his career path.
Rogan asked Musk about corruption
Towards the end of the long episode, Rogan asked Musk about the potential of uncovering of any corruption within DC.
“This is really going to get me assassinated. It’s like I’m not lengthening my lifespan by explaining this stuff say the least,” Musk replied.
“I was supposed to go back to DC. How am I going to survive?”
He’s worried it’ll get him “killed”
Musk also said that he tries to tread carefully and to not ‘push too hard on the corruption stuff’ so he doesn’t get ‘killed’.
He started telling a story of when two men had traveled to Austin with the goal of attacking him. “People get desperate,” Musk said.
Musk started telling the story
“Two separate incidents. One thought I’d put a chip in his head. And, I mean, they’re both basically two guys that just very much had severe mental illness… This is before the severe propaganda wave, the probability that any given homicidal maniac is going to try to kill you is proportionate to how many times they hear your name,” Musk said.
He believes his name triggers people
“And so they heard my name a lot. So I just got to the top of the list of two homicidal maniacs who were arrested, and both were in Travis County jail at the same time,” Musk added.
Musk claimed they have since been released
The tech mogul claimed that the two men have since been released but their locations are being monitored with electronic devices.
“And at this point, I think I’m at the top of the list for a lot of homicidal maniacs,” he said.
