As we get older, we often find ourselves in a position that can both be kind of flattering and upsetting at the same time. Although there’s no set age for it, we can reach a point in maturity where our loved ones finally feel comfortable revealing our family’s dark secrets to us.
Although this can make us look at certain aunts, uncles, and cousins in a whole different light, there’s also something special about being trusted with this knowledge.
But just as those secrets just kind of find themselves at the back of our minds until something specific dredges them up, so too will the memories of seeing these strange sights for the people who found them.
This person could’ve sprayed anything in the world on this wall, but for some reason, they went with this.

I suppose I should count myself lucky that the street artists in my area prefer depictions of majestic birds taking medicine and cartoon characters hanging out over creepy clowns staring at you.
This church in Mexico likely looked a lot less unnerving before it was abandoned.

The inverted cross is just a sign of humility for those, like Peter, who consider themselves unworthy to be crucified in the same way that Jesus was.
Still, it’s hard to read that context when the humble person’s face is covered with tattered sack cloth like they’re in a horror movie.
Believe it or not, someone in Czechoslovakia during the late 1970s thought children would like this thing.

Well, “like” is a strong word as the creature you see here–Ratafak Plachta from the children’s TV series [ Slniečko ]( https://lostmediawiki.com/Slnie%C4%8Dko_(partially_found_Slovak_children%27s_TV_series;_1979-1989)–was supposed to be a menace, but not so much that people would stop tuning in to see more of him.
Obviously, kids back then didn’t find him as scary as we do because the show lasted for over 100 episodes.
Whenever one poor soul goes to work, this is the scene that waits for them.

It’s true that people can get used to pretty much anything, but it’s still hard to imagine that anybody who looks at this dark road with this eerie glow every morning would have much need for coffee.
They’re already wide awake.
Although it’s much less of a mystery as to whether there are bodies here, that doesn’t make it any more inviting.

In other words, this cemetery in Copenhagen, Denmark looks appropriately grim and should keep everyone except the most daring of goths away until visiting hours.
Nothing has ever inspired the words, “I’ll walk” like an invitation to ride with whatever this is.

I’m not sure if it’s more or less comforting to know that this creepy mask is attached to the headrest and not being worn by somebody in the backseat.
Somebody found this photo of their cousins at their grandma’s house and I’d be pretty happy to forget this happened to me as a kid.

It is strange to consider, however, that it’s not impossible for the same kids who were scared of sitting on Santa’s lap to be perfectly OK with posing for this picture.
No, thanks.
So there’s just a zombie mug in this cabinet, but it would still be worth a double take for those who have never been to this house before.

I also don’t imagine that even the owner got used to seeing this face in their cupboard until at least a week passed.
Although it’s one of the most bright and beautiful things we’ll be discussing today, I’d probably rather experience the others before I set foot on this.

Even if the visuals stay with you, we only need to look at a creepy clown or a strange puppet for a second to get the appropriate effect.
Crossing this bridge with the glass floor would not only take longer, but feel like a terrifying eternity.
You might expect to see something like this in the catacombs of a church, but not the basement of an apartment building.

And yet, here is a headstone in all its glory right in that exact place. Imagine having to focus on fixing the furnace next to this thing.
This doll somehow became even more creepy once somebody dropped and broke it.

As much as we might usually focus on the smiling, crying face that was hiding in here all along, I can’t get over one simple question: Are those funnels?
I’m sure there’s some important reason why this maternity ward is keeping this tally, but it’s hard to imagine it making new parents feel any more comfortable.

The message here could be that they shouldn’t blame themselves if it happens because it’s so common, but now I’m just worried about what happened 15 days ago.
These little slips of paper might seem only mildly disturbing on their own, but the person who took this picture didn’t draw them.

Instead, someone had been going to their house specifically to drop these into their mailbox over a two-week period.
Although they got a brief look at this person, it’s unclear what they’re trying to accomplish. These hardly seem like friendly greetings, though.
The problem with these hands isn’t how they look, but rather who they belonged to.

These were the hands of Tsutomu Miyazaki and as NPR reported , they unfortunately brought him ridicule from other children growing up.
Although this cruelty might inspire some sympathy, that will likely go away once you learn that he would stalk, kill, and even drink the blood of young girls before he turned 30. He was executed in 2008.
The reason why these bones are here is horrific, but that horror passed centuries ago.

That’s because most of the bones in Sedlec Ossuary at Kutná Hora, Czechia belonged to victims of the black plague that swept Europe throughout the 14th century.
According to the BBC , 30,000 of the skeletons here were brought for this reason, while another 10,000 died during the Crusades.
This grisly sight used to be just an animal carcass, but it has a whole different purpose now.

Although it’s unclear whether wasps or bees made their colony here, it’s clear that some insect queen figured this would be the perfect spot for a nest.
They definitely have very different standards for good housing than we do.
While this might be a spooky enough scene on its own, there’s one thing about this picture that turns it into more than just a pile of rocks.

If you have a hard time making it out, it’s that shape with the two bright spots at around center-right in the photo.
Without knowing what that is, it’s hard to tell if it’s actually watching us, but it seems that way.
This may look like someone captured a soul leaving their friend’s body, but there’s a reason this person seems to enjoy the experience.

That’s because they’re having a perfectly fun time on this swing and their friend just took their picture using an old camera and some expired film.
Yeah, this is what you can get when you do that.
If this is a prank, somebody went to some pretty elaborate lengths to fool us.

And the fact that the coordinates lead to some unnamed road near an Air Force base in Florida doesn’t make this situation any clearer.
Sending someone out to the middle of nowhere for a body that doesn’t exist still counts as a prank, right? Please?
This tunnel in Niagara Falls, Canada has a name that fits its sinister appearance.

It’s called the Screaming Tunnel, supposedly because it’s haunted by the ghost of a young girl who died here after escaping a burning farm.
