Beloved Disney Channel actor Rondell Sheridan, known to millions of fans as Victor Baxter from the Disney Channel show That’s So Raven, has been in the hospital battling a life-threatening illness.
He became ill last month
While traveling in April, the 65-year-old actor became seriously ill and had to eventually be hospitalized.
His friends later revealed that he was diagnosed with what they described as an “extremely severe case of pancreatitis.”
He finally spoke about it on Tuesday
The actor, who also starred in Cory in the House and Raven’s Home, finally spoke about his illness on Tuesday, May 6, when he took to social media to address news of the condition he’s been silently battling since last month.
He asked for help via GoFundMe
Speaking to his followers about his illness, Sheridan asked for their support through his GoFundMe campaign, which is organized by his close friend Isabel Beyoso.
His fans came to the rescue as the fundraiser has already raised far more than its initial target of $35,000.
Beyoso wrote about Sheridan’s state in the campaign
On the campaign page, Beyoso wrote, “Hello friends and family. My name is Isabel Beyoso, and I am creating this page on behalf of my very dear friend Rondell Sheridan because he has been admitted to the hospital twice in the last month due to an extremely severe case of pancreatitis.”
Sheridan hasn’t been able to work
According to Beyoso, the actor hasn’t been able to work since April 12, with doctors having not been able to determine exactly when he will get better enough to come back, as per The Mirror.
“He has not been able to work since April 12, 2025 and will not be able to return to work for the unforeseeable future,” Beyoso wrote.
He’s being closely monitored by doctors
The Disney actor is being closely monitored by medical teams but they seem to be limited in what they can do to improve his state.
“The doctors have said he just has to wait for his pancreas to do what it’s going to do before any further treatment can be considered,” Beyoso explained.
Fans have been able to help out
Since the campaign was launched, fans have been able to raise more than $70,000 for the actor’s medical recovery, which exceeds the initial goal of $35,000.
Beyoso had explained on the page, “In the meantime, he will be mostly bedridden, while in recovery.”
