Actor Francisco San Martin was reportedly found dead in his home in Los Angeles on Thursday. The Spanish actor was most known for his role as Dario Hernandez on the 60-season soap opera Days Of Our Lives which has been running since 1965.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office told the Hollywood LA News that the actor is believed to have died by suicide.

San Martin’s role in Days Of Our Lives
The star was born on 27 August 1985, making him aged 39 when he passed on Thursday 26 January.
San Martin had starred on Days Of Our Lives for six months in 2010-11, playing a character who pretended to be a petty thief but was later revealed to have been a detective arriving at Salem to investigate a cold case.
The actor moved on to another show
San Martin later joined the drama The Bold and the Beautiful in 2017 playing Mateo, a groundskeeper who gets involved in one of Sheila’s plans at Forrester Manor.
Although the actor joined the 37-season long drama for just 11 episodes, it’s one of the roles he’s known for.
San Martin was also on Jane The Virgin
The Spanish actor was also a recurring character on the beloved hit show Jane The Virgin in 2017.
He appeared on the show seasons 3 and 4, playing the character Fabian Regalo del Cielo who was in a hectic relationship with Jane for a short story arc.
Co-star Camila Banus paid him tribute
According to Forbes, Camila Banus, who co-starred with San Martin on Days Of Our Lives playing his on-screen sister Gabi, paid tribute to the actor on Instagram.
“Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend,” the actress wrote.
The actor is lovingly remembered by his co-stars
“My only witness that pau sang happy birthday to me in the middle of a concert in Hollywood, you couldn’t believe it,” Banus continued in her post, before adding, “Love you mucho mucho mucho; I wish I had told you more.”
Fans also paid tribute to the actor
Many users online also took to social media to mourn the star, with one person writing, “Very, very sad. I am a bit in shock, as I saw Francisco at my gym most every day.”
Another person wrote, “RIP sweetheart. Gone too soon.”
The actor started his career as a kid
San Martin was born in Mallorca, Spain but grew up in Montana. His acting career started at a young age when he joined the children’s theater productions.
The actor then moved back to Spain with his family as a teenager.
His talent was built in Spain
When he was back in Spain to live in Madrid with his family, San Martin started taking acting classes and working as a model.
The actor later made his way as he had appearances on several stage, television, and film productions in Spain.
