It’s been nearly seven months since the passing of rock icon Taylor Hawkins , the drummer for the Foo Fighters. It was shocking, earth-shattering news for millions of people worldwide who loved not only the band, but Hawkins as a person.
The rest of the Food Fighters organized a massive tribute concert in his honor, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the whole stadium.
Back in March, the world lost a music legend.

Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 50. It was devastating news for the world over, but no one was more affected than Hawkins’ family and fellow bandmates.
The band got together to play a tribute show for Hawkins at Wembley Stadium.
It was the first time the band had performed live together since Hawkins’ death, making it a very emotional ordeal for everyone involved, band and audience alike.
This was proven by the band’s lead singer, Dave Grohl.

When performing their hit song Times Like These , Grohl began visibly breaking down, struggling to continue the song at times and pausing before the bridge at the line, “It’s times like these you learn to love again.”
That wasn’t the only tear-filled moment of the night.

The band had a rotating set of guest drummers come out to perform various songs. For the song My Hero , Hawkins’ teenage son, Shane, was the one behind the kit playing in memory of his father (pictured above).
There were other guest musicians throughout the show, such as Paul McCartney, Liam Gallagher, members of AC/DC, Queen, and Metallica.
It was a beautiful, emotional night in honor of an amazing musician.

Grohl called Hawkins his “dear friend, bandmate and brother” while on stage, saying that, “no-one else could make you smile or laugh or dance or sing like he could.”
“So sing and dance and laugh and cry and scream and make some noise so he can hear us right now.”
