Daniella Monet is no stranger to the spotlight. From starring on the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious to hosting Paradise Run , Daniella has been a familiar face for over a decade.
Now, the 31-year-old is focused on her growing family and her new, certified vegan diaper brand, Sprouted . Daniella also hosts the popular podcast Adulting Like A Mother Father with her fiancé Andrew Gardner where they discuss the nitty-gritty of parenting their 1-year-old son, Gio. This past September, Daniella announced she was expecting her second child, and the pair couldn’t be more excited.

Diply had the chance to sit down with Daniella to discuss her approach to plant-based parenting, and the ethical importance of her certified vegan diaper brand, Sprouted .
Daniella Monet is a part of an exclusive club of women who are pregnant amidst a global pandemic.
However, the expectant mom is taking it in stride, “It’s been unique and it’s been such a distraction taking care of Gio,” she explained. “First-time moms being pregnant now is much harder. I feel for the first-time moms.”
Daniella recalled taking her 1-year-old son to the grocery store earlier this year and seeing how excited he was to interact with people. “He was just waving and smiling at everyone and it made me realize how little interaction he’s had with the general public, and that part was kind of sad.”
Parenting amidst a pandemic isn’t easy.
Real stories like these are what the 31-year-old loves to share with her listeners on the podcast Adulting Like A Mother Father which she co-hosts her fiancé, Andrew Gardner.
When asked why she felt the need to be transparent on her podcast, Daniella listed the two most important reasons. “For me it’s selfish, it’s really therapeutic for us to talk about the things that we’re going through. That helps our relationship and helps us be better parents.”
“But then the second part is, in my opinion, there’s just not enough conversation about the real side of parenting. Unfortunately on social media, a lot of us want to gloss it over and make it look really pretty and really easy but there’s so much to it. And there are so many stages that can throw you for a loop emotionally, and physically.”
She explained how thankful she was for the amazing community that has been built around the podcast.
With that community in mind, Daniella has created Sprouted, the first line of certified vegan diapers.
Sprouted is a line of plant-based, eco-friendly diapers. In fact, Sprouted is the first certified vegan diaper brand on the market!
As a dedicated vegan herself, Daniella struggled to find diapers that fit the high standards she, and many new parents, have for their babies. Since she was unhappy with every other diaper brand on the market, she decided to make her own.
“It was something that I felt I really wanted in my own life.”
The response for Sprouted has been overwhelmingly positive, “That part has been really rewarding,” she explained.

Not only is the brand making the planet a better place, but they’re also giving back to the community. On Giving Tuesday (December 1st) Sprouted announced that they would be helping a parent in need every month by providing them with free diapers.
In addition to Sprouted, Daniella has taken on other ethical endeavours.
She developed the plant-based beauty box, Kinder with friend and actress Evanna Lynch, is currently working on opening her second vegan Mexican restaurant Sugar Taco in California, as well as being an investor in Outstanding Foods , a line of “addictively delicious” plant-based snacks.
Daniella’s approach to veganism is simple — lead by example.
“Living by example has been the most helpful way to affect other people,” she stated. “We are just one person but we really can make a difference.”
Of course, being a public figure comes with its criticisms. With over 4 million Instagram followers, the 31-year-old is no stranger to mom-shamers.
“I try to be open-minded to everyone’s opinions. And I know I’m not going to please everyone. There are certain things for me where I’m super confident in where I stand, and other things where if someone were to say something I’m definitely much more affected. And when that happens, sometimes I will comment back,” she revealed.
“I know you’re not supposed to give it attention, but sometimes I really do feel like they need a hug.”
“It takes a lot of energy to share, and I really, really do value sharing… but there are certain days that I need to reserve for myself.”
As far as upcoming projects go, she hopes that the cast of Victorious will get the same reboot treatment as many other beloved shows from the 2010s. “I think we’d all be interested,” she said, revealing she and the cast still keep in touch in group chats.
Her latest project is something close to her heart, and while she couldn’t give too many details away, it sounds like a passion project fans can surely look forward to.
