It’s always devastating to hear that someone you admire has passed away.
One of the nice things to come out of a sad situation is the memories that people share. For Luke Perry, there are some really touching stories that we can’t get enough of.
The sad news that Luke Perry passed away at 52-years-old has devastated fans around the world.

He suffered a stroke a week earlier, but his death still came as a surprise to many.
A lot of celebrities who knew Luke have been sharing their condolences.
And people had nothing but nice things to say about Luke. It proved that he really was one of the greats.
Colin Hanks shared an anecdote that had a lot of people in tears.

He explained that he only met Luke once, but he had a story to share about their encounter.
He explained that he and his wife were on a plane back from Mexico.

He wrote that there were some young kids a few rows ahead of him who were yelling and screaming, and the parents were powerless to stop them — something I’m sure a lot of people have dealt with before.
“It was like this for close to two hours,” he said.

“Then about 10 minutes before landing it starts to get real bad. Out of no where, a man comes from first class. Hat, beard, sunglasses, blowing up a balloon. He ties it off, hands it off like he’s holding out a sword to a king. Kneeling, Head down, arms up. Kids calm down in milliseconds. Plane damn near bursts into applause,” he said.
It wasn’t until they were in the customs line that he realized it was Luke Perry who had saved the day.

“As luck would have it we end up standing next to each other. Out of the blue he turns to me and says some kind words about Fargo, which kinda blew my mind.”
He had the chance to sing Luke’s praises, and told him how much he admired him and his move with the balloon.

“He tells me he always flies with a couple of balloons for that very reason, to give to screaming kids. Don’t know if that’s true, but have no reason to believe it wasn’t. Guy seemed like a true gent. Gone way too damn soon. Also, I’ll be damned if I don’t start traveling with some spare balloons,” he added.
Knowing that Luke Perry traveled with balloons on hand is absolutely what we needed to hear today.

A lot of people loved hearing this story, and remembering Luke for the great person he was.
