Claire Danes is ecstatic about becoming a mother for the third time, and her older kids have learned of the new development. The star actress recently opened up on the hilarious but peculiar reactions each of her sons had when they found out they were becoming big brothers.
Danes’ Older Kids Had Different Reactions
The Little Women actress stopped by on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon opening up about motherhood and the latest addition that her family was expecting. Danes recalled the moment her sons, Rowan, 4, and 10-year-old Cyrus shared how they felt about welcoming a new baby. She noted that Cyrus took it without fuss as he appeared to have “sort of resigned to it.” According to her, referring to Rowan, “the worst has happened.”

Danes Younger Child Had A More Dramatic Reaction
The My So-Called Life actress shared that Rowan’s reaction was more hilarious and full of fuss. She relayed how he was “categorically opposed to the idea of a younger sibling. The star mom playfully stated that he had more to lose, and more was at stake. She described his reaction, “He said, ‘Yeah, no no no, I don’t like it. I like peace, Mama.’ I was like, that’s rich because that dude does not shut up.”
Danes stated that her younger son even went on to suggest how they could manage the situation of a new addition. She stated that he suggested that “after the baby came out of her tummy, they could give it away to a family that did not have a baby.” Rowan let his mom know they “were done.”
Rowan Had To be Convinced
Danes stated that during her funny discussion with Rowan, she tried convincing him that the idea of a new baby was not that bad. She recalled telling him the baby would need a lot of guidance and he would be there to handle that. She stated that the idea of “being a condescending presence” made him feel better. She added that he was now “a bit optimistic.”

The Terminator 3 actress announced her third pregnancy with husband Hugh Dancy a few weeks ago and debuted her growing baby bump at the recently concluded Golden Globe Awards. She rocked her pregnancy gown and elegant figure in a plunging Giambattista Valli dress with a bow and fringe hem.

Back in 2012, Danes started her motherhood journey. At the time she was expecting her first child with Dancy. She joined Anderson Cooper on Anderson Live sharing her view on motherhood. The Homeland actress stated that she did not know what to expect but believed it would be a “profound change.”
She Experienced Child Care Way Before Her Own Motherhood
When asked about how she would handle motherhood, Danes relayed that she already had some experience. She made it known that her mom used to run a toddler school and this meant she grew up around one-year-old to two-year-old kids. She stated that she had knowledge of early childhood development.

Following the birth of her child, Danes gave updates relaying how she was handling her working-mom life. She referred to her then-toddler son, Cyrus as a “real set baby” who loved her place of work and especially the operations room because of the lights.

The 43-year-old has been married to her spouse, Dancy since 2009. The duo met in 2009 on the set of Evening . She recently got out of a relationship and was not looking to be in another one soon. However, when she met her spouse she knew she was interested. It took a one-night stand for Danes to realize she wanted to be with Dancy and she hasn’t looked back since then.
