If you have not been keeping up with the drama coming out of the Venice Film Festival in regards to the upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling starring Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, Harry Styles, Sydney Chandler, Nick Kroll, Gemma Chan, and Florence Pugh, I’m going to need you to buckle up.
In the past 24 hours, fans of this film (which hasn’t even come out yet, let me remind you) have been on a rollercoaster and now, Chris Pine’s rep is about done.
All eyes were on the cast of “Don’t Worry Darling” at the Venice Film Festival on Monday.
After rumored feuds between the film’s director Olivia Wilde and its star Florence Pugh, Olivia being caught in a casting lie and the reported wage discrepancy between the film’s leads Florence and Harry Styles, fans were bracing themselves for impact.
However, no one could have guessed how truly awkward the movie’s Venice Film Festival debut was.
One moment, in particular, was captured on video which SEEMINGLY showed some sort of awkward altercation between Harry Styles and costar Chris Pine.
To be more specific, fans believe Harry allegedly spit on Chris while taking a seat beside him.
As you can see, Chris goes from clapping and smiling to totally shutting down and bowing his head. In an extended version of the video, Chris then picks of his glasses from his lap and smiles.
While many fans believe the spit absolutely happened, other videos from different angles show much to be desired about the alleged altercation.
Now, Chris Pine’s rep is addressing the claims.
“This is a ridiculous story… a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation,” Chris’ rep told ET on Tuesday.
Yikes!
“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did NOT spit on Chris Pine.”
“There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist,” the actor’s rep added.
Well, there you have it folks!
