Kim Kardashian is a woman who knows how to make a headline, and that held true at this year's Met Gala. She showed up wearing Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Happy Birthday" dress from 1962 that she wore to sing to JFK.

But I just got word that she wore not one, but TWO of Marilyn Monroe's dresses. One of them was for the afterparty, so we just didn't see it right away.

Kim Kardashian dominated the Met Gala.

She wore Marilyn Monroe's iconic naked dress from 1962. But not everyone was very happy about it due to the historic nature of the dress, and the weight loss she had to go through to fit in.

But as it turns out, Kim Kardashian had another one of Marilyn Monroe's dresses waiting for her after the Gala.

Perhaps a lesser-known one for some people, but still just as shockingly stunning (as everything Monroe wore was, am I right?).

The second dress was from the 1962 Golden Globes.

It was in this dress that Marilyn Monroe won the Henrietta Award alongside Charlton Heston. It was the last Golden Globes award show that she would be at, as she died months later.

While some may not know the significance of the dress, fashion experts do.

Vogue said the dress is "one of the most memorable Golden Globes fashion moments in history — that’s almost priceless."

Man, it must be nice to be able to be in the presence of such an item!

Kim K also recognizes its significance.

"To top off my night after The Met, I had the honor of changing into Marilyn Monroe's Norman Norell dress that she wore to the Golden Globes in 1962 —where she received the Henrietta Award For World Film Favorite," she wrote on Instagram.

She continued:

"In my quest to find the Jean Louis hand-beaded dress that I wore to the gala, I discovered @heritageauctions owned Marilyn’s iconic green sequined gown,"

But her night of being in the presence of Monroe's iconic items didn't stop there.

She even got to steal a pic with Marilyn's Golden Globe.

Nope, I am not kidding.

"Further into my research, I found out that the owner of the Golden Globe that she received that evening was noneother than my friend @jeffleatham."

"I saw this all as a sign the way that all of the stars aligned."

"It will forever be one of the greatest privileges of my life to be able to channel my inner Marilyn in this way, on such a special night."

But just like the first gown, Kim had to find a workaround with the second one too.

She had to wear a coat draped over the back of the first dress as it would not zip up all the way.

For the second one, she decided to put her arms through the hoops, unlike Marilyn who chose not to.

And as usual, Kim K has her reasons. Chrissy Teigen even asked her about it on Instagram, giving us all an answer.

"Wait," Chrissy wrote.

"So Marilyn didn't put her arms through the armholes!? Iconic lol."

Kim responded: "No!!! Haha. I tried it that way but it didn't look good on me like that."

Well, you can say one thing: Kim knows what does and doesn't look good on her.

And while Kim K certainly had the time of her life, people on the internet were not that impressed.

A lot of people called out her being proud of her quick diet to lose a lot of weight, and others thought she shouldn't have even worn the dress at all.

"Kim Kardashian was gifted a lock of Marilyn Monroe’s hair." wrote one user.

"Hair that was stolen off Marilyn’s head by the man who handled her body in the morgue. He stole her hair to give to his wife as a souvenir. A SOUVENIR. Even in death, people wanted a piece of her. It’s disgusting."

"Kim Kardashian being allowed to wear Marilyn Monroe’s dress is just plain disrespect." another wrote.

"A piece of fashion history made for an icon completely ruined. Marilyn should have been the only woman to wear that dress. Exploited in life and sadly exploited in death."

The internet isn't happy, clearly. Are you?
