10+ Deleted Scenes From Iconic Movies That Would Have Changed Everything

In the movie and show business, there are tons of moments that don't make it to the final cut.

It's not anyone's fault really, sometimes movies just get too long.

But there are some scenes that would have completely changed the format of a film!

1. 'The Devil Wears Prada'

IMDb

In The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep's character Miranda is super mean throughout the whole movie, but in one deleted scene we see her actually thank Andy!

Which, is totally out of character.

2. 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1'

IMDb

There is one deleted scene in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 where we see that Aunt Petunia actually has some humanity!

But how are we supposed to hate her?

3. 'It'

IMDb

"It" seems that there was a scene for gruesome for It.

For what Jake? We're not doing this bit. Or should I say b-It? No? Okay, nevermind I won't say... the thing I was going to say.

'It' (CONT)

IMDb

Where was I... oh right! Well, in one deleted scene we flashback to the 1600s where we see Pennywise the evil clown eating a freaking baby!

Jeez, while it may have added some fear factor to Pennywise, it may have been too much.

4. 'The Lion King'

Disney

Speaking of really creepy, there was apparently a scene in The Lion King where Scar makes advances on Nala. She slaps him and he says:

"Oh, Nala, Nala, Nala. You know, you really have no choice. I always get what I want."

Eww!

5. 'Black Panther'

Marvel

There was supposed to be a scene in Black Panther where we dive into Okoye and W'Kabi's relationship.

They argue when W'Kabi sides with Killmonger, and we find out they are married.

6. 'Zootopia'

Disney

There was supposed to be a really sad scene in Zootopia where we find out that predators are tamed at a young age with shock collars.

It was supposed to be called a "taming party".

7. 'Mean Girls'

IMDb

There was supposed to be a scene in Mean Girls where Regina and Cady talk before the homecoming queen is announced.

Regina talks about how when she was a kid, she pushed her dollhouse down the stairs.

8. 'Suicide Squad'

IMDb

While I'm sure there was a lot more Joker supposed to be in the movie, there was supposed to be a scene where Joker made a deal with Enchantress...

'Suicide Squad' (CONT)

IMDb

It was to get Harley Quinn out of the final battle and send her to Gotham.

This would've weakened the Squad and made it easier for Enchantress to potentially defeat them.

9. 'The Force Awakens'

IMDb

There was supposed to be a scene where Finn is trying to decide whether or not to kill a villager (the opening scene) but eventually lets her get away, leading to his defection.

10. 'Frozen'

Disney

In a weird turn for the movie, there was supposed to be a scene where Elsa trapped and tortured soldiers from Arrendale to get information about Anna.

Apparently, it was supposed to make her look more villainous.

11. 'Get Out'

IMDb

In yet another shocking twist for the movie, Rose was going to say that she too was hypnotized by her mother.

Then again, it was nice to see how villainous she was near the end.

12. 'I Am Legend'

IMDb

There was supposed to be a scene where they explained how humans were terrifying to the monsters, and that they were just trying to rescue one of their own near the end.

13. 'Rambo: First Blood'

IMDb

Instead of the heart-wrenching scene, we see at the end of Rambo: First Blood, they were supposed to go with the ending of the book.

Rambo kills the bad guy and then takes his own life.

14. 'Beetlejuice'

IMDb

While what we eventually got was a campy, cult-classic that was a lot of fun, what was supposed to happen in Beetlejuice was a whole lot darker.

Apparently, Lydia set herself ablaze so she could spend the afterlife with her new ghost friends.

15. 'Little Shop Of Horrors'

IMDb

The ending of this movie was actually reshot, because a lot like Beetlejuice, the original was a lot darker.

It originally had Audrey Jr. killing her owner, growing to a massive size and destroying the planet.

16. 'Clerks'

IMDb

While the ending we got was pretty bad, Dante (who wasn't even supposed to be at work that day) had an even worse ending originally.

He was supposed to get murdered in a robbery.

17. 'Return Of The Jedi'

IMDb

Some people wonder why Obi-Wan neglected to tell Luke who his real father was, but this deleted scene in Return Of The Jedi would have explained it all.

'Return Of The Jedi' (CONT)

IMDb

Apparently, it was originally supposed to be Yoda who told him not to do it.

He wanted to train Luke and was afraid that if he knew his father was a Sith Lord it would impede it.

18. 'King Kong'

IMDb

The original King Kong from 1933 was supposed to have a much more gruesome scene, but censorship got in the way.

Apparently, Kong was supposed to force a group of sailors into a ravine full of spiders.

19. 'Forrest Gump'

IMDb

Remember that scene when Forrest's mic gets unplugged at the Vietnam rally? Ever wonder what he said? Well, here it is:

"Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

20. 'Knocked Up'

IMDb

One of Jonah Hill's funniest scenes got cut from Knocked Up.

It was a rant about Brokeback Mountain and while I can't quote it here, it was hilarious and oddly progressive.

21. 'Alien'

The original ending to Alien was (as is common on this list) a lot darker.

Apparently, the alien was supposed to bite off Ripley's head and mimick her voice for the final communication.
