Johnny Depp Saved Courtney Love's Life After Her Overdose In 1995

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are all anyone can talk about lately, and that includes Courtney Love. Currently, Depp and Heard are entwined in a messy court battle over Heard's 2018 Washington Post op-ed where she explained that she was a victim of domestic violence. Although Depp was not mentioned by name, the Pirates of the Caribbean and Edwards Scissorhands star believes that the op-ed by the Aquaman star ruined his career.

Now, famous singer-songwriter Courtney Love, (who was also famously married to Kurt Cobain) is showing support for Johnny Depp.

The two were married from 2015 to 2017, and it was clearly a rocky marriage from start to finish. Depp continuously denies Heard's allegations of domestic and sexual violence, and now, Courtney Love has something to say about it.

Love said that Depp saved her life after she overdosed in 1995 outside a famous club called The Viper Room.

The club, located in West Hollywood was actually once co-owned by Johnny Depp and was a huge place for every major celebrity in the '90s.

Love has now opened up about the incident.

She spoke to fans in a video posted to a friend’s social media account. “I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly. I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside The Viper Room,” she said.

This was shortly after the loss of famous rock singer Kurt Cobain, who took his own life in 1994 at the young age of 27.

During this difficult time, Love admitted that Depp reached out to both Love and her daughter Frances Bean, who was only 13 at the time.

More interesting was that Johnny Depp and Courtney Love weren't even really friends.

“Johnny, when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with all these social workers, wrote her a four-page letter that she’s never showed me,” Love said.

“Then he sent limos to her school where all the social workers were crawling around, again, unasked, for her and all her friends to go to ‘Pirates [of the Caribbean],’” she continued.

“He did it a bunch of times. He gave her her own seat [at the premieres] with her name on it.”

“I’ve never seen one of those ‘Pirates’ movies, but [Frances] loved them."

"You know, she said to me when she was 13, ‘Mama, he saved my life.’ And she said it again.” However, just because she was saying very nice things about Johnny Depp, Love made it clear that she also feels deep empathy for Amber Heard.

“I’ve been the most hated woman in America." Love said.

"I’ve been the most hated woman in the world before TikTok and it’s a really… I have a lot of empathy for what that must feel like for Amber. [Expletive] man, wow, can you imagine being her?”

“But if you use a movement for your own personal gain, and you inhabit queer feminist intersectional spaces, and you abuse that moment, then I hope justice gets served whatever it is.”

However, she has since deleted the video.

She expressed regret at posting it.

"I engaged in expressing thoughts online. The platform accidentally posted a story I didn’t want public (I’m sure it was not deliberate) in it I am weaponising snark (what else do we do with snark?) Was it my own (granted, massive, a character defect, ego?)."

"Was it a genuine, expression of support for someone whose been a wondrous presence in our lives?"

"Is it ANY OF MY [expletive] BUSINESS? No.What about the times I’ve been publicly defamed? My true friends have done so much to help me during these public ritual systemic humiliations?"

"That [expletive] matters."

"I think of my mentors in morality, whose high opinion of my actions ❤️‍🩹 Are important to me.I am an addict in recovery, for now I outsource these peoples values. What would x do in this situation? My best thinking in addiction, got me into hell, hunger, animality, greed, ego."

"While I recover, I borrow the values, moral compasses of those I look up to (& dogs, especially 🐾) who do the right thing."

"I certainly don’t always do the right thing. My goal - emulate the human revolution of my mentor @daisakuikeda🪷I want to show neutral support for a friend. I dont want to bully.I’ve been bullied enough."

"I did not want to express my own bias / internalized mysoginy."

"(Do give me a break on that one. Look at my JOB! I’m working on it) I want nothing to do with contributing more online bullying to someone enduring being bullied like no one ever has been online. Ever. In my program of recovery, ‘when we were wrong, we promptly admitted it was wrong."

"The only important takeaway, of what was posted, is that I expressed that we should all stop having ‘fun with schadenfraude’ (look it up: ‘Delight in another’s down fall’🛑)& show sincere empathy for both parties."

"If I hurt anyone, please accept my amends.🙇🏼‍♀️Back to my offline life.

Well, one thing is for sure: we can always count on Courtney Love to get our attention.
