Viral 'Bird Box' Challenge Forces Netflix To Issue Safety Warning

It's only the second day of 2019 and already we're out the gate with a hilarious and dangerous viral challenge. Honestly, I love humans and our ability to make anything into an extreme sport.

With the increasing popularity of Netflix's "Bird Box," fans are blindfolding themselves, à la Sandra Bullock's character in the film.

But fans are not just blindfolding themselves, they're like... going out in public and trying to navigate Earth while blindfolded.

Popular YouTuber Morgan Adams was one of the first to try the challenge.

The bravery it takes to ride a mall escalator with a sleeping mask on is some next level shiz.

Other people just added the challenge to their everyday morning routine. Why not spice up ya life, amirite?

I'm inspired, tbh.

Let's be clear - this is a family fun activity.

YouTube vlog family the B.E.A.M Squad filmed the challenge and proved you can never be too young to join in the Bird Box challenge fun!

However, due to it's rise in popularity - Netflix recently had to announce a statement in regards to the safety of their viewers.

"Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes."

People obviously took the tweet as an excuse to make more jokes, cause that's what we DO.

I'm laughing real hard at these replies back, tho.

IT'S CALLED ART, SWEETIE. LOOK IT UP!

These guys are dedicated to their craft and I love that for them.

So go forth and be careful, sweet children.
