With easy access to worldwide news, and a constant barrage of horrifying stories, it's no wonder we lose hope for humanity.

But it's also important to remember that news sources focus on what sells, which is usually scandalous or distressing content. They're not interested in what makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

So that's what we're gonna do today — fill up part of your day with stories about people that will warm your cold, icy heart!

1. This 18-year-old waitress took the time to cut up an elderly man's meal for him after he told her his hands "don't work too good."

Waitress Evoni Williams works at a Waffle House in Texas, and her act of kindness was done without hesitation. This small gesture allowed a man to eat his meal more easily.

2. This guy quit his job and travels around the US in his RV to find homes for shelter dogs.

He started by rescuing 6 dogs that live with him. Together they travel from state to state, having adventures and partnering with shelters to set up adoption events. His goal is to empty all the shelters.

3. This group of elementary school students delivered a poster to the grandma who waved at their bus every morning.

When they noticed that she hadn't been at the window for a few days, they inquired at the longterm care home. Louise had had a stroke and was now at a rehabilitation centre. So they made and sent this special poster.

4. This boy asked his adoptive family to dress as superheroes on adoption day.

There's something super special about a family coming together through adoption. So it just makes perfect sense that this trooper wanted to celebrate the day as superheroes!

5. This bus driver does the hair of a little girl who lost her mom.

Eleven-year-old Isabella, who lost her mom, asked her bus driver one morning if she could braid her hair. Now Tracy does Isabella's hair every morning after dropping the kids off at school. Isabella says it makes her feel like she has a mom.

6. This husband, who always lets his sweetheart know he's faithful to her.

This is so sweet, it hurts my teeth! I absolutely love that he literally sticks out from the crowd in that hat too! Talk about #MarriageGoals!

7. This 11-year-old boy used his inevitable death to save the lives of others.

He had a terminal brain tumor and knew he would not survive. He argued that he wanted to do good in the world and could do so by donating his organs to save the lives of people who needed transplants.

8. This couple decided to pay for an entire kindergarten class' college education instead of buying a yacht.

Marty and Seon Burbank live by the mantra "give until it hurts a little." With that in mind, they decided to remove the financial barrier for 26 kindergarten students to go to college. Marty says that it hurts financially, but it's worth it.

9. This barber opened her own shop that offers "Sensory Sensitive Sunday Sessions" for kids with special needs.

She left her old shop after her manager reprimanded her for spending too much time trying to calm and cut the hair of a little boy with autism. Her new shop has given her a new purpose and fantastic clients!

10. This grandma spends several hours of each day teaching herself English, all so she can communicate with her family.

This made me tear right up. The older we get, the harder it is to learn a new language. So what this woman is doing shows just much she loves her family.

11. This teacher donated a kidney to her student's mom.

After noticing a behavioural change from one of her students, Donna called home to see if something happened. She learned that the student's mom, Anahita, was in stage 5 kidney failure and had a rare blood type. Donna looked into it, found out she was a match and donated a kidney!

12. This highschool senior surprised two classmates with new shoes.

The students had told Roderick they liked his shoes, so he made them a promise that he'd get them some too — and he did! Vans was so touched by his generosity that they sent him a gift card so he could buy more shoes for other classmates.

13. This 93-year-old lady proves age is nothing but a number during her weekly dance class.

Helene started working out with her trainer Elizabeth following a health scare three years ago. Now, Helene looks forward to going to the gym three days a week. Her upbeat attitude, smile, and laughter are infectious!

15. This woman picked up the tab for another mom who was having a really hard day.

After a really challenging morning with her kids, Ashley struck up a conversation with Wendy, mom of four, at Starbucks. When Ashley went to pay, there was a gift card and note waiting for her from Wendy. Small gestures can make a big impact.

16. This highschool senior started a group called "We Dine Together" to make sure no student feels alone.

After immigrating to the US from Haiti in the first grade, Dennis felt ostracized because of the language barrier. Fast forward to high school where he didn't want other students to feel alone — so he started the club, which targets socially isolated students.
