There are plenty of reasons why a person might not want to have kids. There's the financial strain to consider, the inevitable stress it puts on your relationship, etc.

But one thing that doesn't get discussed enough as far as I'm concerned is that kids are inherently creepy. Have a look and check out these 15 parents as they share the creepiest things their kids have ever said.

There's nothing more terrifying than a child chanting.

Whenever I think of kid's chanting, my mind always returns to that one terrifying scene from A Nightmare on Elm Street. That whole "one, two, Freddy's coming for you..." nursery rhyme always scared the crap out of me.

How many lives have you lived?

"We nicknamed our daughter 'spooky' as she talked about two previous lives between the ages 3 and 5. After we had a car accident in which no one was hurt, she remained totally calm saying her friend had told her it would happen and that we would be fine." - Twitter/@BevPalfreyman

What is dead may never die.

Do you remember the final scene in The 6th Sense where Haley Joel Osment is looking out the car window and sees all the dead people passing by on the street? That's exactly what this made me think of.

What would you do if your child predicted your own death?

"Not a past life but impending end of mine: 4yr/o Daughter: "Daddy, you're going to die" Me: "Yes love, we all will one day. Hopefully I won't die for a long time though. Daughter: "No daddy. It's soon." - Twitter/@awpchristie

Does your child have the sixth sense?

If your kid is so spooky that he's scaring an elderly cab driver half to death, maybe you should think about taking him to a doctor to get checked out...or maybe perhaps a priest?

Talking in tongues.

"Mine was restless one night, went in to cuddle, she started talking in another language. I asked who are you talking to, she said ancestors. I asked who are you, and she said Shaman. Then did a little bit of chanting. WTF??" - Twitter/@Davidoss

Is this cute or creepy?

This is a profoundly deep and philosophical statement for a 4-year-old to make. To say that human beings are all made of stars isn't altogether inaccurate or far off, but how could one so young know so much?

Who is "The Crying Man"?

"My toddler used to be woken regularly by "the crying man and the angry lady", who didn't pay any notice to him, but woke him with their fighting. On a visit to the local museum, we learned that his bedroom sat very precisely on the site of the town's old debtor's jail." - Twitter/@StarbuckToby

This gives all new meaning to the term ghost stories.

I think it's sad that there are children out there who will grow up never having known their grandparents. That being said, I don't know if I'd want them visiting from beyond the grave.

Off with his head!

Giphy

"My 3-yo used to describe how “when I big, the machine, it cut off my head.” He’d use the trash can lid to demonstrate on his babydoll. One day after weeks of this I asked him to draw “the machine.” I kid you not, he drew a guillotine." - Twitter/@KWindness

How would they possibly know that?

I'm pretty sure that if my child ever said "this is where I died," I would be packing up my things and putting a giant FOR SALE sign on the front lawn come morning.

If I don't return from this life of a soldier...

"When my son was little he never liked his toenails being trimmed. Used to go grey and physically shake. Proper panic attack. He said it’s because when he was a soldier he had his toenails pulled off." - Twitter/@ClaireElliott2

Remembering the past trauma of a former life.

It sounds as if this kid was recalling a vivid scene from Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List. Is this just a coincidence or is it possible that there's something more to this story?

A deathly dance from beyond the grave.

"One time when my son was about 3, we were dancing with his feet on my feet & he said, "Mommy, I remember when I was big & you were little & we used to dance like this." The only person I can remember dancing like that with is my grandfather." - Twitter/@KLWalpole14

When your child's bad dream becomes your own nightmare.

"I went to her to stroke her head and calm her down and she was half awake already and she whispered: “Daddy, when the night babies come, I take the hearts from inside their bones so they can’t bite anymore".” - Twitter/@colinjbrowne
