Here Are 20 Clever Ideas That I Hope To See More Of In The Future

I feel like, when it comes to good ideas, we as a society have barely scratched the surface. There are so many unique ways to design structures, revamp products, and revolutionize the way we interact with one another. There's still so much to discover.

So while this list of cool ideas doesn't have every one of them out there, it has a bunch that are definitely worth looking out for.

"This Korean snack has two notches on the bag, so you can open at the second notch for easier access in the later stages of snacking."

Talk about ingenuity. Unless you're the type of person who eats an entire bag of snacks in one sitting (me) then you might find this method of packaging a lot better for keeping air out of your snacks.

"Packet of olive oil shaped like an olive."

I really wish more packages could be like this. It's a little packet of olive oil that just so happens to be shaped like the fruit where the oil came from. Is it genius? Yes. Do I want, like, 20 of these in my house now? Also yes.

"The pot at my rental house has built in measurements."

Sometimes, you need a specific amount of water in your pot. But it can be tricky if you're just eyeballing it, and pouring cups of water in there is a bit of a chore. I feel like this would make cooking so much easier.

"A nice lady at the grocery store showed me an easy way to hang you bags on your grocery cart so it's easy to put away."

So, we're all going to be loading our groceries into the cart like this from now on, right? Because this is without a doubt the most ingenious thing I've ever seen. I mean, that's probably what all those hooks and hangers are for in the first place, but still!

"Fitted sheet has tags to help you orient it correctly on the mattress."

I can't be the only one who hates changing sheets, right? The different sides of a fitted sheet all look the same when it isn't on the mattress, so it makes putting it on so annoying.

At least this way, you'd be able to tell which side is which from the get go.

"My Office Made of GIANT LEGOS (Ever Blocks)."

I think we all deserve an office built with Ever Blocks, aka giant LEGOs. They look cool, and fun, and if you need to move it around, it probably won't be that hard to do.

And if you get bored of the shape, use more LEGO to change it.

"This staircase has the first step after and the last step before each landing painted red."

You know how many times people miss that last step? Too many. Especially on a staircase where all the steps are such similar colors, they're hard to distinguish from one another. These red steps have probably saved a lot of people from tripping.

"This cupcake pan/carrier we bought has a built in seat belt clip."

I feel like this would be helpful for more than just transporting cupcakes. In fact, there should be carriers like this for pretty much any dessert. The worst thing in the world is trying to transport some sweet treats, only for them to fall over.

"A cake that you can buy out of a vending machine in a can."

Speaking of cake, I'll have both of those, please. Cake in a can seems like something that could change the world for the better. It's probably the most amazing and perfect thing this world will ever see. That may sound dramatic, but come on, it's cake.

"This shop trying to immerse you with cool air next to products to keep stuff cool."

Keeping fans around during a hot day is a good idea in general, but this takes in-store advertising to a whole new level. Want to keep feeling that cool? Just buy one of those cooling products.

"Started eating instant oatmeal and found out the packet is designed for you to measure your liquid so you don't dirty a measuring cup!"

Things like this always make me so happy. What's the point of grabbing a measuring cup and using it for one small thing, when you could just use the package to do that? So easy!

"My protein powder scoop is designed to sit on a lip just under the lid... so you don't have to reach into the powder to grab it."

I feel like this would be really helpful to some people out there. Those of us who actually need protein powder are probably jumping for joy right about now.

"This book has markers on the page edges so that you can see how long each chapter is."

Have you ever decided to stop reading after the next chapter, only to learn that the chapter you're reading is, like, 40 pages long? Well, books like this one would at least show you when the next chapter starts, so you can plan ahead better.

"This detergent comes in a cardboard bottle."

Now this is a pretty cool idea. Instead of using yet another plastic bottle, this detergent uses cardboard. It probably breaks down if you don't use it before a certain amount of time, though, so it might not be the best item to hoard.

"Truck’s height printed backwards so that the driver can read it with his mirrors."

This is pretty clever. I feel like, if all trucks don't already have this, they should. Truck driving can be a tough job, so this one thing would at least make it a little easier for those on the road.

"Using pencils as parking poles to prevent cars from parking in school areas."

Parking poles are pretty important for different buildings, but these ones combine function with fashion, which is super cool. Of course it would make sense to put colorful pencil poles up in front of a school. Now that's what I call a genius idea.

"A step that pulls out like a drawer."

This would be such a great idea for households that have small kids. It keeps the stool nice and close, but it can still be out of the way when you don't need it. I'm thinking all bathroom vanities need to be built like this.

"For our wedding my sister gave us a date night wallet filled with gift cards for local dates!"

This is such a cool idea! Not only is this a great gift when you don't quite know what to give someone and don't want to just throw some money in an envelope, but it's really fun, too. It lets the married couple try out some new restaurants.

"This bus has USB outlets to charge your phone."

I've seen plugs on trains before, but never on buses. We need these on every form of public transportation ASAP. There are no bad places to keep a phone charger, since you never know when you may need to give your phone some extra juice.

"Road design that separates people who want to pick-up/drop-off and people who don't."

That's an interesting way to design a road. One side has stops for people who want to be able to park and stuff, while the other is solely through-traffic. And they both go in the same direction. This probably helps keep traffic from getting congested.
