Some people out there can’t handle it when they aren’t the center of attention. The need to have all eyes on them, even during events that are supposed to be about other people. And they don’t care one bit if they’re hurting your feelings.
One Reddit user has a half-sister who loves stealing all the attention. When the user, obsnotmain, got engaged, the half-sister decided to wear a wedding dress to her engagement party. But the user decided to get petty revenge by changing the party’s theme. She then posted her amazing revenge story to Reddit’s Petty Revenge sub.
Apparently, OP’s sister is known to pull stunts like this.

More or less, the half-sister is kind of a jerk.

In OP’s story, her sister (whom she names Heather) has been trying to one-up her their entire lives. Their family situation is weird; their dad left OP’s mom for Heather’s mom, and the two were actually born within a few weeks of each other.
When OP got engaged, she invited Heather to the engagement party. But one of her cousins told her that Heather was planning on wearing a fancy wedding dress to the party. So, OP changed the theme to a costume party. She told her dad to tell Heather and Heather’s mom, knowing he’d forget.
When the day came, everyone was in costume. Heather showed up and was outraged that her outfit didn’t steal attention, and she left while crying. The dad thought it was wrong of OP to do that, but OP didn’t care.
Commenters agreed that OP’s revenge was amazing.

Some people have siblings who love stealing the spotlight. But it seems that Heather goes above and beyond to be as absolutely horrible to her half-sister as possible. It’s kind of sad how a grown woman would think that behaving like that is acceptable.
Others were amazed at how poorly the dad had been behaving.

It seems that the dad is a big reason why Heather feels she can behave the way she does. It’s pretty clear that he plays favorites. But the fact that OP used her dad’s forgetfulness to enact the perfect revenge was pretty brilliant.
Meanwhile, many users took to the comments to crack jokes.

Some users even offered suggestions as to what OP could do if Heather tried to pull that stunt at her wedding. I think a renaissance-themed wedding would be incredible.
