Brian Austin Green, 51, finally addressed the grooming allegations concerning him and Megan Fox, 31, back when the former couple were 31 and 18, respectively.
Having met on the ABC Drama Hope & Faith set in 2004, Green and Fox dated on and off until they got married. Their relationship was a roller coaster that unfortunately met a dead end.
They were on and off
After they got married in 2010, the former couple first broke up in 2015 before getting back together again a year later.
However, trouble in paradise hit again as they got divorced in 2020. Fox ended up dating Machine Gun Kelly and Green got engaged to ballroom dancer Sharna May Burgess, 39.
Green finally addressed the claims
The 90210 star addressed the allegations that he groomed the Jennifer’s Body star when he first started dating her on his podcast, Oldish.
He told his co-hosts, Randy Spelling and Burgess, that he got with Fox after he’d had his 23-year-old son Kassius with his ex-partner, Vanessa Marcil, 56.
How his issues took their toll on Fox
“So she became very responsible for his well-being and was involved in all of the legal stuff that was going on with Vanessa and I, and it’s a lot at a young age,” Green started explaining.
“It was amazing, but it was so much responsibility, I think she kind of just got to a point in her life where she was like: ‘I missed out on being a kid, like, being an irresponsible kid. I jumped in at just over 18 years old with a guy that had a two-year-old,'” he continued.
It was “overwhelming for her”
“I think it became overwhelming for her. When she realized that, she wanted out quickly, which is then what made it hard for me. I understood it, but it doesn’t make it any less hard,” Green added about Fox’s state during that time.
She then filed for divorce after giving birth to sons Noah, 12, and Bodhi, 11.
They had a third child
After getting back together, they had Journey, eight, together. “Journey was born. Then we were just kind of back in the wheel,” Green elaborated.
“And then when she came to me again wanting a divorce, I was devastated,” he added.
His fiancée asked him why he never addressed the rumors
“I think it comes from my dad. He’s very good at cutting emotion out of something and just being logical in his choices,” Green answered. He highlighted how actions are what really matter, not words.
“I really, logically understood that if I defend myself this one time, it’s never gonna stop. I’m gonna have to defend myself for who knows how long, because people are gonna believe what they wanna believe,” he added. He concluded that he had no regrets about his relationship with Fox.
