Times are tough right now and sometimes it can feel like the only news out there is bad news about bad people doing bad things. It’s important to take the time to acknowledge, seek out, and celebrate the good people doing good things and doing their best to make life better.
This is one of those stories, and the best part is that it involves free beer.

In early June, this pair of best friends went viral.
“Today, I had a chance to catch up with two great guys, Benjamin Smith and Marcus Ellis. These two best friends have set up camp at Smith’s house in Pittsford,” tweeted News 8 WROC reporter Dan Gross alongside a picture of the two men in question.
They had gone viral for posting up outside in the driveway with some welcome signs.
The cardboard signs read, “Black or white: relax! and have a beer,” while the two of them sat in the driveway with a cooler, inviting anyone who wished to join them for a drink.
This message was well received, especially by country music superstar Brad Paisley.
As News 8 WROC shared, Paisley got on a video call with the two best friends.
Of course, this call happened after Paisley bought out hundreds of dollars worth of beer at AJ’s Beer Warehouse and had it delivered to them.
“Man, I am so thrilled to meet you, face to face like this,” Paisley told them.
Paisley’s kind words continued.
“I’m so inspired by you, and we thought we should deliver more beer than you could possibly drink. This is going to be a popular destination on this street,” Paisley said.
He also performed for them his song “There’s No I In Beer” which was pretty fitting!
Paisley has been active and vocal about the current anti-racism movement happening all over the country, so it makes sense that he would seek out these two.
“I have been trying to reach out to friends and learn and observe, and especially my friends in the black community,” Paisley had said in a video on his Instagram.
“In that sense, it’s been fascinating, it’s been something that I’m really glad I’m doing,” Paisley said. “I’m glad I’m getting to hear perspectives that are usually sort of buried and not talked about.”
What an awesome move! I’d have a beer with those guys any day!
