When it comes to the royal family, 2018 has been a particularly exciting year. We all tuned in to watch the royal wedding, right?
Well, now that the day is long over, there are some behind-the-scenes details coming out about it and I’m very much here for the inside scoop.

When it comes to the royal family, everyone has an opinion.
But for the most part, people are huge fans of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and how could you not be?
Even way back in 2016 when the dating rumors began to swirl, people were giddy for the two to start a relationship.
It was pretty wild that Harry was dating an American actress. Oh, the scandal.
But really, Suits is a great show and I only hate that she had to leave it.
We were more than thrilled when the pair announced their engagement.
Even seeing them interviews, you could just tell by the way they looked at each other that they were very much in love. The Queen was definitely not just forcing these two together to get Harry to settle down.
Naturally, their wedding day was a grand event that people couldn’t stop talking about for days and weeks beforehand.
I’m totally guilty of being one of those people, by the way.
But whatever, we won’t get a big wedding like this again until one of the royal children decides to get married, so let me live.
There were so many gorgeous details that came out during and after the wedding.
Take Meghan’s bouquet, for example .
Apparently, Harry had hand-picked the flowers for it from their garden. I mean, come ON.
And that jaw-dropping tiara that Meghan wore?
Apparently, it once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, according to Harper’s Bazaar .
I don’t know why it’s really all that shocking. I mean, if you’re marrying into the royal family, you’re bound to be able to dip into the jewelry collection from time to time, right?

We also know that for the wedding reception, Meghan honored the late Princess Diana by wearing her aquamarine ring.
Despite the beautiful wedding day, there was a bit of drama leading up to the event.
That, of course, being the fact that her father was flip-flopping between attending and not.
There were a few paparazzi photos of him that surfaced, and it came out that he was the one who had called the paps in the first place. It was all super dramatic, according to TMZ .
As if that weren’t bad enough, her father apparently needed emergency heart surgery.
As a result, even if he wanted to come to the ceremony, his doctor wasn’t going to let him get on a plane.
I swear, I was following these updates closer than I was following the actual wedding day.
If Meghan’s father wasn’t going to attend the wedding, who would walk her down the aisle?
There were many theories.
Some thought she would walk by herself, others thought that maybe her mother would escort her.
It wasn’t long before Kensington Palace announced that it would be Prince Charles who would be walking Meghan down the aisle.
“Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St. George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way,” the statement read, according to E! News .
Now that the wedding has been over for several months, we’re just learning the details of how exactly that decision came to be.
Was it Meghan who asked? Or was it Harry?
These are the burning questions that keep me up at night.
We recently learned how it happened in an upcoming BBC documentary.
Prince Harry revealed that he approached his father about it.
“I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming,” Harry explained .
Of course, Charles said yes.
“He immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you’.”
Honestly, I’m crying right now.
Harry wasn’t all that surprised that Charles agreed.
“For him, that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us,” he said, and added that he was very grateful that Charles would step in and do that for Meghan.
Charles’ wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also opened up about the gesture.
She explained that Charles appeared to “relax” Meghan as they walked down the aisle together.
She added that Charles was especially supportive towards Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
“A lot of people, seeing my husband actually take the bride’s mother by the hand to sign the registry, it’s something that moved everybody. It’s the things he does behind the scenes that people don’t know about. I don’t think people realize quite how kind he is,” she revealed.
Of course, Camilla wasn’t the only one to notice Charles’ kind gesture that day.
A lot of people on Twitter took notice and were impressed by the entire affair.
Then again, Twitter really noticed everything that went down that day.
They were the real MVPs for anyone who didn’t want to get up early to watch the ceremony. If you missed a funny face reaction from a guest, don’t worry, Twitter had it covered.
Just like how any major award show ends up having meme’d moments, the royal wedding was no different.
Even William and Kate’s wedding didn’t see this many memes.
I bet they’re jealous.
Anyway, now that the wedding is done and over with, the next big thing is the future royal baby.
Meghan and Harry announced not long ago that they’re expecting a little one in the spring of 2019.
They embarked on their first royal tour as a married couple, and we were already able to see a hint of a growing baby bump.
We also got to see Prince Harry get really excited over being gifted a pair of baby uggs.
But can you blame him? They’re so tiny and fluffy and cute!
Anyway, we’re wishing all the best to Meghan and Harry as they take on this new chapter, and we hope that everything goes smoothly.
And also that they’ll have a little ginger baby so Harry doesn’t feel left out anymore.
