Some artists take inspiration from a variety of different sources. It could be nature or their own life experiences. But Heather Penn takes inspiration from tea. And she creates beautiful designs that blend animals and plants to represent the different varieties of tea.
Her work is so imaginative and colorful you absolutely have to see it.
1. Gold Peony Antelope
This awesome design represents Heather’s love for the gold peony white tea. I think it so unique and looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the colors.
2. Fragrant Leaf
I’m absolutely obsessed with sea horses. I even have one tattooed on my calf, so this design is blowing me away and giving me good feels.
3. Lotus Tea
I adore how Heather is able to illustrate the illumination and the light in this way. It’s absolutely mesmerizing to look at. Don’t you think?
4. Barley Tea
I have to say I really love all the unique colors this lady is able to create with her art. The hues are so different and vibrant.
5. Pu-er Tea Spirit
Wow, the color green in this creation literally looks to me like it’s glowing. I can’t take my eyes off of it. This is stunning.
6. Mulberry Tea Gecko
Mulberry tea is one of my favorites. I can’t believe Heather was able to evoke the spirit of this tasty tee with this colorful creation.
7. Jasmine Tea Ermine
Again, jasmine tea is definitely one of my favorite types of tea. This delicate animal spirit represents it so beautifully. It’s so pretty and sweet.
8. Dragon Phoenix Shan Lin Xi Tea Spirit
Wow, check out all the vibrant colors Heather used to represent this tea. This is such a colorful and multifaceted creation.
9. Hibiscus Tea Spirit

I’ve had hibiscus tea a few times in my life and I remember it for its colorful pink hue. This stingray creature is so fitting.
10. Earl Grey Tea Spirit
Okay, I’m realizing I know more teas that I actually thought. This gorgeous flowing horse represents this flavourful and bold tea absolutely perfectly.
11. Gold Peony Twisted Leaf Oolong
Can you believe someone can think of tea and come up with such an imaginative way to channel it into a drawing? Amazing.
12. Dragon Oolong Tea Spirit

And here’s another truly awesome animal creature creation. Not only does it look like a mystical creature but the colors are simply breathtaking. I love this.
13. Houjicha Tea Spirit

I’ve never heard of this particular tea but if it’s represented like this it must be delicious. This is such a lovely and imaginative rendition.
Okay, you must admit you’ve never seen anyone inspired by tea quite like this, have you?
I know I definitely haven’t. I think Heather’s work is absolutely amazing.
