Ariel has had dark hair for years
All through her time in the spotlight as Alex Dunphy on Modern Family , Ariel Winter has rocked her dark hair.
Now, as summer approaches, and Modern Family comes to an end, it looks like she’s ready for a new chapter — and some new hair!
She’s totally channeling her namesake now
It must have been hard to avoid the temptation to go full Disney princess for so long!
I have to be honest, though…this hair color change raises a couple intriguing questions. Eyeball emoji, am I right?
See, Ariel has been working for Disney for a while
One of her first roles was in Phineas and Ferb , Disney’s animated hit about a pair of brothers who embark on wild adventures over their summer vacation.
She played Gretchen from 2007-2015.
She’s obviously on “Modern Family”
Disney owns ABC, who produces Modern Family .
Ariel has been on the show since 2009. In February 2019, ABC announced that the eleventh season of the show would be the final one.
She also starred in an animated Disney show
She was the voice of Sofia, who becomes a princess when her mother marries a King.
The show ended in 2018. For a while, however, she was a Disney princess!
And wouldn’t you know it, she’s also played a mermaid before
I am building these conspiracies out of thin air, but it is starting to get convincing, guys.
In yet another Disney show, Ariel voiced Marina the Mermaid in Jake and the Never Land Pirates .

Did you know that Disney is actually in the middle of pre-production on a live-action version of The Little Mermaid ?
Did you also know that they have yet to cast the lead role of Ariel? Hm…
All of this is pretty magical
The current rumored favorite to portray the teenage princess is Zendaya, who has also been in the Disney family for much of her career.
I can see either in the role, but Ariel changing her hair color seems like a fun sign…
Her followers were all super into the look
Some were absolutely shocked, and some couldn’t believe it was her.
But it looks like everyone is in agreement: this look is fire. Get it, because red hair? I’m explaining my jokes now, I’m so sorry.

And yeah, she actually kinda does look like Bella Thorne! Other people also suggested Katherine McNamara, of Shadowhunters fame.

Different hair suits you better at different times. In my opinion, Ariel looks amazing with red hair.
It’s especially great to have that lighter color coming into summer. Very seasonal and fresh.
Unfortunately, a lot of comments focused on her body, rather than her hair
Which is just…insane.
Apparently, Ariel’s body changing means that people feel free to say how they prefer it.
Sure, she may be posting herself publicly. But that doesn’t give people the right to try and dictate how she presents herself.

Implying she does drugs? Asking if she had plastic surgery?
