Ariana Grande is showing that she doesn’t forget. The 29-year-old singer this year donated gifts to child patients years after a devastating Manchester, U.K. bombing at one of her concerts left 22 people dead. The “thank u, next” singer brought some festive love and joy to sick kids for Christmas 2022 – she donated to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity, who she has a long-standing relationship with. The charity this week took to social media to thank the Grammy winner, saying that the gifts would make all the difference for these kids.
Donating After Bombing

Ariana’s gesture comes five years after the terrorist attack shocked and devastated the world. The singer has been reaching out ever since to show that she cares. “It’s so wonderful that Ariana has once again been so thoughtful and made this special donation to our family of hospitals,” Tanya Hamid, interim director of Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, wrote on the charity’s Instagram. Tanya added:
“We know Manchester, and in particular Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, holds a special place in Ariana’s heart.”
22 People Died
The attack took place on May 22, 2017. Suicide bomber Salma Abedi was identified as the attacker – he was 22 years old. Of the 22 people killed, one was as young as eight years old.
In 2019, and aged 26, Ariana opened up to Vogue as she recalled the horrific event. “It’s not my trauma. It’s those families. It’s their losses, and so it’s hard to just let it all out without thinking about them reading this and reopening the memory for them,” she said.
Fundraising Concert
Grande then held a special fund-raising concert back in Manchester. “I’m proud that we were able to raise a lot of money with the intention of giving people a feeling of love or unity, but at the end of the day, it didn’t bring anyone back,” she said.
Living Her Best Life
In 2022, Ariana is happy and healthy. The singer is married to Dalton Gomez and has also been making headway with her R.E.M. beauty brand. Grande has also seen her social media following shoot up – she is followed by 347 million on Instagram. At the start of the month, the singer posed to shout out her cosmetics while posing in a pink outfit and on a motorcycle. She alerted fans to the fact that they can shop R.E.M. at Ulta Beauty.
