In my humble opinion, Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie ever, even though it ends in complete heartbreak. I’m also a huge Diego Luna fan, so when I heard that Andor was greenlit, I was over the moon. Now that it’s here, I just HAD to write about the first episodes that dropped on Disney+.
Overall though: while it’s a slow start, it holds nothing but promise and excitement for the future. So be sure to tune in and watch the first three episodes!

Fans can rest easy, ‘Andor’ is the show that we have been waiting for.
Andor , while it is in the Star Wars universe, manages to feel completely separate. It is its own compelling story, full of thrills and the type of nail-biting adventure I think we were all desperate for.
ICYDK: Andor is the prequel to Rogue One (which is, in my opinion, the best Star Wars movie ever) but it still holds its own as a TV show even though it is working off the body of the film. Is it slower than people might hope? Of course. However, people seem to forget that any show, even a show built off a successful franchise, needs to do its setup and introduction. The first two episodes set the stage and then the third gets ready to lead you off on the amazing story you’ve been waiting for.
The show takes place five years before ‘Rogue One’.
Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, is seen in a very different light. In the movie, he is an arrogant rebel, but in the show, he is a lot more desperate than I anticipated he’d be. Diego Luna is just as captivating to watch as he was the first time around. He is sad, itching for change, and living on a planet (and in a galaxy) that has no respect for its workers, and is surrounded by corporate and government greed.
It’s definitely a darker Star Wars story, full of political conversations that children might not grasp. That is, however, precisely what puts this show above the rest. You feel so far away from other Star Wars stories and are left with a political thriller.
Needless to say, it’s a very timely story to unravel, and I can’t wait to see where the rest of the show takes us.
