One of the Brown children from Discovery’s “Alaskan Bush People” scared fans with an Instagram post.
Alarming Post
The post in question came last week, when Rain Brown, one of the seven children who star in the reality show “Alaskan Bush People,” Instagrammed a photo of her in bed.

It’s Okay Not To Be Okay
The photo wasn’t so much the issue, it was the caption with it, which read:
Some days are so bad all you can do is lay in bed. On those days it helps to have an angel by your side. Love you mr PT bardum, you’re my strength
Struggled With Depression
Rain has been open about struggling with depression in the past.
Last year, she took a break from filming and shared this with fans:
“A little bit ago I was given a week off from work, I had been working almost non stop for about a year, I showed up on time I worked I laughed and I reluctantly took the weekends off, even though I was proud of how hard I was working I was also not taking a lot of time for my mental health. I got very caught up in the daily stresses and struggles of life and had no time to just be me, and I’m not gonna lie, I lost sight of my values, who I was, and who I wanted to be.”
Take A Break
She went on, saying that the time off helped her clear her mind and fill her heart:
“I’ve spent the last week painting, cooking, cleaning, driving, hiking, eating, catching up with friends, and my favorite, spending time with the people I love. Standing here at the end of my week with a clear mind and a very full heart, I say. If you find yourself overthinking, overwhelmed, and just plain stressed? Take a break. Rebuild yourself, find yourself again and I promise you, you will come out better in the end. I love you all and God bless my lovely’s.”
Encouragement
The Instagram post combined with her history of depression worried many fans, who showered her with encouragement:
Hope you are feeling a little brighter sweetheart. Hang in there and in a few more days things will be looking and feeling a lot brighter
My Hero
Another fan said that Rain is her hero:
Hey you are my hero, your inner light is different, it means you are a real warrior like a super powerful girl. I know sometimes is not really easy but it is possible. Keep going beautiful don’t give up, you can do it.
This Too Shall Pass
Others tried to remind her that the feeling will pass and to stay strong:

Stay Strong
Two days after that Instagram post, Rain posted this image of a heart made of snow with the hashtags #staystrong #stayhappy #getoutside.
New Season
Season 8 of “Alaskan Bush People” aired last year with just five episodes. A 9th season is expected to premiere on Discovery sometime in 2019, although an exact date isn’t known yet.
Opening Up
Back in September, Rain opened up about her mental health struggles on social media in a post — quoted above. But it is a nice way to see through the open window.
Family
As you can see, the tightknit group you see on television is also tight when the cameras are shut off. But even with that, it is still possible to have mental health issues.
Hard Worker
Can’t deny she’s been given the tools to survive, though. It’s the other stuff that you can’t really teach someone to do.
Chopping Wood
And while someone can chop wood, it’s tough to chop through those mental blocks and dark moments that we all deal with.
Chopping wood would be a good way to focus the mind, though.
Stay Strong, Stay Happy
And in the end, you just need to stay happy and strong. She’s not lying and it’s wise talk for a 16-year-old girl.
