Celebrity weatherman Al Roker is grateful he is able to join his family for the holidays despite his health scare in the past weeks. Roker showed off his jolly preparations for Christmas alongside his adorable family while feeling “thankful.”
Al Roker Shares Christmas Prep On Instagram
The Today star joined his family in decorating their family Christmas tree as he shared several photos. The first snap was a photo of his 24-year-old daughter, Leila, rocking a Christmas sweatshirt and a big smile. She showed off a red Christmas decor while doing on a ladder, ready to hang the ornament.
The next slide was an image of Roker’s wife, Deborah Roberts, also holding an ornament. Through the slides, the family, including Roker’s son, Nick, happily rallied around their well-lit Christmas tree. The TV star captioned his post,
He Recently Returned Home After A Health Issue
Earlier in the month, Roker returned home just in time to prepare for the holidays. This came after he was admitted to the hospital due to an ongoing health problem. The TV personality took to his Instagram page to share an image of himself posing in the kitchen while letting his well-wishers know he was home and well. Prior to that, Roker shared a health update stating that he would be able to return to his family soon. He thanked fans for the prayers and well-wishes.
Inside Roker’s Health Issues

Roker was first in the news in November when he revealed on Instagram, that he had been receiving treatments for blood clots. The blood clots had traveled from an injury on his leg to his lungs, causing complications. After his treatment, Roker was discharged on Thanksgiving Day and he was reunited with his family.
However, the following week saw the anchor returning to the hospital as announced by Hoda Kotb on Today . Kotb shared on the show that he had to be taken back to the hospital due to complications. She however assured fans that he was in “very good care.”
Roker Is Quite Transparent With His Health History
In 2020 Roker revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis as a way to shed light on the statistic of the ailment. The 68-year-old star explained that early detection would help the ailment to be treatable. He noted that he wanted to carry fans along his health journey so many could learn how to protect men against it.
