A British Influencer Has Died After Falling From Spain’s Highest Bridge

In a tragic and shocking turn of events, a 26-year-old British influencer has died after falling from Spain’s tallest bridge while reportedly filming content for social media.

The daredevil had been attempting to capture footage on the 192-meter-high Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, located just west of Madrid, when things took a devastating and heartbreaking turn, marking a somber end to the risky stunt.

The Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, located near Talavera de la Reina, west of Madrid, is a whopping 192 meters high.

It’s earned the nickname “bridge to nowhere” because, despite its size, it barely gets any traffic. But apparently, that didn’t stop the influencer from deciding it was the perfect spot for his latest social media stunt.

Emergency services were called early on October 13 after a passing driver witnessed the horrifying fall.

Paramedics, firefighters, and the National Police rushed to the scene, but sadly, it was already too late. The influencer’s body was recovered and taken to a funeral home.

Local authorities have repeatedly warned people not to climb the bridge.

Macarena Muñoz, a councillor for citizen security, shared her frustration over the incident, stating, “We’ve said it time and time again – climbing this bridge is strictly prohibited. This outcome is just devastating.”

According to police reports, the influencer and his 24-year-old friend climbed about 40 to 50 meters up the bridge without any safety gear – no harnesses, nothing.

His friend was reportedly left in a state of shock and couldn’t even speak when the authorities arrived.

Police believe the two were trying to create social media content when the tragic accident happened.

This isn’t the first time the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge has become a hotspot for dangerous stunts. Over the years, several bloggers have climbed it for viral videos, and a similar incident occurred back in 2016.

While an investigation is underway to determine exactly what led to the influencer’s fall, authorities have said they don’t plan to charge his 24-year-old friend.

Whether or not he will face consequences for illegally climbing the bridge is up to the local town hall.
