Practically everyone shops online nowadays. When you order from reputable sites and read the reviews, you’ll generally be pleased with what you receive.
But there’s a dark side to online shopping, too. We don’t mean to pick on Wish.com, but then again, given the theme of this list, it seems unavoidable.

“Warned my friend about buying from Wish. Hope he learned his lesson.”
If you squint, this is still maybe recognizable as a Boba Fett mask. It would work if you were dressing up as a version of Boba Fett that had just gone through a trash compactor.
“I knew I was taking a gamble ordering from Wish…. but still, I couldn’t stop laughing when my blanket finally arrived!”
Sometimes you take a chance and wind up getting burned. Sometimes you order a blanket and just get a big pile of yarn.
“Seller pictures vs reviewer pictures on Wish.”
This comparison shot basically tells you everything you need to know about Wish: you’ll wind up receiving an item that’s technically comparable to the pics, but somehow, everything about it will be just a bit off.
“Damn it Wish, that’s not what I ordered.”
Lots of watches, Casios in particular, fill their dial with lots of words about water resistance and so on. This watch also fills its dial with words, but I have no idea what they’re trying to say.
“(Found) This mask from Wish.”
You can see how the actual mask is based off the same design shown in the photos. At some point in the printing process, though, things went horribly wrong. Just look at the size of those lips.
“I wish I was making this up.”
I think I know what happened here: the shirt was awesome — so awesome, in fact, that the DHL driver decided to take it for himself and pull the ol’ switcheroo with his work shirt.
“Thanks Wish.”
Yeah, the final product doesn’t look great. But honestly, if you’re ordering bling from Wish, you deserve whatever you get. They’re not exactly known as purveyors of high-end diamonds and gold, and this picture proves it.
“When you order your Halloween costume on wish.com.”
I’ve seen some disastrous Wish Halloween costumes before, but this one may just take the cake. Did they just mail out a paper towel to serve as a ghost costume?
“Wish Freddy.”
I don’t get this one. Why did they have to make Freddy’s mouth agape, with weird Chiclet teeth? If they’d kept the mouth closed, it would be a simpler mold to make and he’d look a lot meaner.
“Found on Twitter.”
This makes me so sad. The advertised tabletop looks downright stunning, and I’m sure commanded a high asking price. The delivered product is one of the saddest things I’ve seen. It looks like someone spilled blue Kool-Aid on it.
“BF didn’t read the clamp size carefully before ordering online.”
More often than not, the item you receive will be smaller than what you wanted, but sometimes it works the opposite way. This couple is now the proud (?) owner of a big ol’ clamp.
“Thanks to this woman’s Amazon review I promptly removed this dress from my cart!”
Lots of dresses are designed to emphasize breasts, but there’s a difference between using tailoring to create a subtly flattering look and cartoonishly highlighting the boob.
“Never online ordering again.”
Here’s a trick you’ll sometimes see when something is sold for a ridiculously good price online: they’re actually selling you a tiny version of what you’re looking for. At least this person got a cute trinket.
“They messed up pretty bad on this one lmao.”
Yes, they did indeed mess up pretty bad on this. Still, I’m glad the buyer set it up anyway. Everything’s still there, just a little bit out of place. It still gets the message across.
“An online listing vs. what was actually delivered.”
This is sold as a teaching tool, but if any students are actually taught using this thing, they’re going to have a skewed idea of how engines work. Also, it’s missing about half of what’s shown in the pic.
“After 2 months of waiting, I finally got my mystery tent box.”
For $11.99, it’s hard to be that angry about whatever you receive. Still, the ad heavily implies that you’ll get a lot more tent than just a simple emergency tarp.
“I ordered a felt fox online.”
When I compare the two pics, the derpy fox on the right has almost everything shown on the adorable fox on the left. Somehow, though, things just don’t add up. It’s like the one on the right was made by someone who’d never seen a fox before.
“What they ordered vs. what they got.”
This shirt is so very close to delivering on its promise. It’s just a shame that it has that messaging on it. What parent would ever want that on a kids’ shirt?
“Buying a kids’ dinosaur pillowcase.”
This is one of the more hilarious examples of kinda-false but kinda-accurate advertising I’ve seen online.
The pillowcase delivered shows exactly what’s in the pics, but still, we all know people are expecting a dinosaur-shaped pillow and no random stock photo kid.
“What could go wrong ordering a $100 wedding dress online from Wish?”
The answer to this admittedly rhetorical question is “Lots.” I mean, what was delivered is right in line with what I’d expect from a Wish wedding dress, but I’m sure it’s still disappointing for any brides-to-be.
